    81 Holmes vs 97 Lewis

I'm going with my man Holmes here but I feel like the fight could go either way. Thoughts?

This thread was done like 100 times here :)

I'm also with Holmes, if we take 1981 version. Lennox would be dangerous though.

If it's 15 rounds than Holmes clearly wins as he had superior stamina.

This fight won't end by KO, it lasts full distance.

If it gets s****py and holmes wants to fight it out, he gets dropped and loses UD.
If lewis is lazy he gets peppered with the jab all night.

Holmes UD. Too crafty. He probably gets dropped by a right but Holmes outjabs and outpoints Lewis imo.

holmes is one of the few who could lock out lennox for an UD, and recover from the possible knockdowns to do so.

I am surprised how the vast majoiry pick Holmes. Bit that he does not have an excellent case.
So the muscle & weight disparity would not be enough to carry Lewis through?
He would fight too cautiously, not be able to get inside ith uppercuts or overpower Homles. just lose an outdie game?

There's a reason why Lewis avoided Holmes.

But that's according to Holmes himself.

Holmes said Lewis told him he never wanted to face Holmes because his jab was too good.

Make of that what you will.

Goin' with Holmes by decision.. Lennox showed time and time again that he could dispatch the bigger, slower moving bangers.. But did we ever see him take on a master technician, with good movement, stellar jab, great stamina and a solid chin? I don't think anyone with that complete description exists anywhere on his record.. Make no mistake, it would be a very dangerous endeavor for the Easton Assassin. Lot's of huge right hands, power and size to contend with.. And with Manny Steward in his corner, Lewis was no chump. But this is a fight with an ATG that I think Larry could handle albeit with some close calls and scary moments..

Probably Lewis, assuming that he could turn it into a brawl. Otherwise he'll be eating the jab all night.
