i had the pleasure of watching ggg fight ward in the amateurs... golovkin won a comfortable decision... wasnt a nail biter. ggg dominated. ward seemed quite affected by gggs punches (ggg was smaller) while wearing headgear... without headgear i predict ggg would stop him

They never fought in the Ams... GGG did fight Dirrell though and won a disputed decision.. I thought Dirrell won that fight and didnt get credited with shots that were clearly landed by the white part of the gloves, But thats amatuer boxing.. its not always accurate.

Ward would beat the living **** out of Golovkin.

He's too smart and more importantly, too fast.

You know you're racist when you cant tell the difference between Andre Ward and Andre Dirrell.

    1. Ward doesn't have to win by KO to win.
    2. Ward may not have fought someone of Golovkin's caliber in a few years, but Golovkin has YET to face someone of Ward's caliber in his professional career.
    3. Golovkin does Not punch harder than Froch, Abraham, nor Edison Miranda. His opponents, most notably Curtis Stevens have said that Golovkin is definitely heavy-handed, but does not have explosive power.

Golovkin's a puncher and he's fighting 3-4 times per year.

Ward's been inactive due to injury and contractual disputes. The Smith fight was a warm up and nothing else. Smith wasn't dragged anywhere. He failed to make the weight twice. The point is, it's silly to compare the Lemieux and Smith fights. Golovkin's at the top of his game, whilst Ward's making his way back.

If Ward could comfortably make SMW and they were to fight, I'd have to fancy Ward at this stage.

    1. I wouldn't say he had no power. He has respectable power.

    2. Golovkin has never faced anybody of Ward's calibre.

    3. I'm not sure about that. Also, we don't know if GGG will be as effective at 168.

    4. It's GG's team who said they'd fight anyone from 154-168.

It was GG's team who said that he'd fight anyone from 154-168. Also, his team held talks with Froch.

Ward needs to get his a$$ in gear, but he's obviously not currently in a position to be calling guys out at 175. He hasn't even officially moved up to 175 yet, and he needs at least one more tune up due to inactivity.

Hits harder than every opponent Ward has faced. How do you know that? Froch, Kessler and Abraham all hit hard you have no idea that GGG's power would even carry up to 168 let alone hits harder than them.

Also how many times do you have to see a guy who's more skilled outbox and undress the bigger puncher? Power is overrated skills aren't remember that.:deal

Lastly you say he brings nothing nothing to the table. That is laughable, Ward is the #2 P4P fighter in the world he legitimizes GGG against an elite opponent and he brings him a career high payday. :deal Brings nothing to the table???? What did Lemeiux bring? Another C class fighter for GGG to showcase against? Log off.:-(

Ward has never faced anybody of Gennady's caliber. His best wins are limited Froch, Kessler and Abraham.

I am not saying that Golovkin has better wins, but let's not pretend that Ward defeated some top p4p's. By the way, he has never defeated a smart boxer.
