Most of us voted No to DQ, because we thought it was more fair a point deduction, we're just pointing out that this could've easily have been a DQ as well, and in other similar situations it has. That as said above and as I said before makes Lemiux even more worthy of praise. He did not just take on one of the most well regarded fighters in the world today, but also never complained and probably never even cross his mind to take advantage of this situation.

A point deduction would have been fair, no doubt.

GGG saw the body punch hurt Lemieux but the guy hesitated to take a knee, that's why the follow up shot to the body was thrown, the same that was thrown at Murray here: https://vine.co/v/OQr6OELvPt9

But it landed on Lemieux's face because he then quickly took a knee while GGG was already charging on his shot,

I think Lemiuexs reaction of taking it well and getting up quickly after had a lot to do with the know call

A dq would have been way worse than the no dq and a point off well it can go either way

I think the real issue is a lack of a time out to let Dave take 5

Lemiex should have rolled over and hunched up in a ball of pain. Get awarded a penalty shoot out on 3Gs head.

One free punch while 3g stands there with his hands down. If he can take it he can continue.

I don't always agree with Rummy, but I ALWAYS enjoy his videos.

Another one in the win column for the Rumster.

On topic, I think at the very least GGG should have been docked a point and Lemeuix should have been given 5 minutes to recover. The fact that the ref basically pretended as if it didn't happen is a disgrace.

He wasn't going to win. Should have used the opportunity to get out on a N/C or DQ

I don't see the similarities. RJJ hit the guy TWICE, Dirrell was sitting on the canvas almost unconscious, and the Pascal fight the guy WAS unconscious.
None of them are similar to GGG-Lemeiux, who was surely down but hit by one punch and was not in trouble before or after the punch.

A point deduction would have been in order, but not a DQ.

    Next issue, please.

Exactly how I see it. Lemieux wasn't smart about. Obviously, nerd virgin armchair athletes on ESB would've accused him of diving but who cares? It's up to Golovkin to control his temper. A N/C or DQ or a controversial KO loss would've looked better on his resume.

He cares, because he obviously has more dignity than you do.

    David HEY!!! Guest

Not the hardest punch landed. The punch wasn't as late some of the other ones I have seen. He was kind of in a throwing motion before David was completely down.

Desperate attempt by a hater BTW.

rofl boxing is business and he wasn't smart about it. In the end, the fight looked lopsided and nobody wants to see a rematch despite the very soft and somewhat controversial TKO.

    He could've

    - cashed out with a rematch
    - possibly gave Golovkin his first loss
    - gotten his name in the press
    - increased his market value

I mean, hindsight is 20/20 but it was round 5 and apparently, he believed he had a shot which he didn't. Boxer oftentimes tend to perceive their own performances as better than what the spectators get to see so who knows what went through his head when he was fouled. Hopkins would've stayed down, I'm sorry to say.

In the end, it would've been Golovkin's fault alone.

Looks like Lemieux has more pride in life then our Little Dino has, but thats nothing new here.

You are really the biggest Wlad and GGG hater i have ever seen in my life.. I really can't belive it. What is wrong with you -(

Or maybe such a thought never occured to him because he wouldn't contemplate doing that in the first place? And using the "it was his fault" for what was clearly an accident to justify what would be a disgraceful action on his account shows a lot about your character.

Either way, I'm not trying to be on a high horse because I probably would have done the same (as in divde) but he should be commended in my opinion for not doing it.

Wow, after seeing the fight, I thought it was an honest mistake and deserves a point deduction. But after seeing the other fights end in disqualification, then absolutely, this fight should've been a disqualification. Just for the sake of consistency.
