Ward didn't fight in the final. He was ruled out through medical reasons so his opponent got a walk over. Technically not a loss :hi:

His last loss was in 98 to Jesus Gonzalez

Ward is the better Amatuer as he won A Gold Medal in the Olympic Games with less Amatuer fights as well, then the Silver Medalist Gennady Golovkin with over 300 Amatuer fights.

At the End of the Day The olmpics is the holy grail of Amatuer Boxing and Ward came out with Gold and GGG with silver.

Ward would win of course. It´s not a good matchup. Forget about this match. Golovkin should unify and Ward should fight Degale or just anybody in his division.

I can only imagine what frustrated GGG would do with the SOB. Ward would regret frustrating him.

I think Golovkin knocks him out late, if Ward's 20 lb weight advantage is not too much.

While it's true than a gold medal obviously trumps a silver one, you can look at their amateur records from different perspectives.

I just hope we can see them fight one day. I was hoping that Ward would stay at SMW at little longer and fight the Bute-DeGale winner plus a few others. But it's not looking like that. If GG's going to stay at MW and Ward's going to LHW, they're going to miss each other. We may end up with a catchweight further down the line, depending on how they both progress.

I agree with this.. I think Ward-Kovalev is more likely. I also don't hold it against GGG for wanting to clear out MW. Though I would love him to move up and fight Ward.
