Mayweather is gone. GGG will be boxing's next star, get over it.

wasn't floyd's first ppv fight against gatti? wasn't gatti an already established fighter? lemieux is relatively unknown so if you're going to compare numbers at least make sure the playing field is even.

There are no official PPV numbers, let's calm down for a second.

Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly did more than that with 5 times less the population to choose from. Ditto Brook & Gavin.

Those guys are the true stars of the boxing fraternity.

The UK is the MECCA, the MECCA of boxing. :nod

Lemieux had a whole country behind him, just like Pac, Canelo, and Hatton.

yes, but gatti, pac, canelo, and hatton have or had a larger fanbase behind them compared to lemieux. wayyy larger... who did lemieux have behind him? canada? come on dude it's a terrible comparison it doesn't matter if it was gigi's first ppv or not

I don't think that GGG will ever reach the heights that Mayweather attained. In PPV or revenue.

I wouldn't say that about Gatti. Canada is huge on boxing and I'm saying that David had a whole country behind him. That's a fact.

Thats Possible, But Canelo might also beat GGG.. But anyways Little G fans made all kinds of comments saying GGG's first PPV would do more then Floyds PPV with Gatti did.. Obviously it wont, so it stands that Floyd Beat GGG in PPV buys in their initial PPv debuts.. Floyd is up 1-0 against GGG right now.. It didnt even beat Jermain Taylors PPV Buys in his very First PPV..

I don't think so either. It's more than just records and knockouts. Mayweather was actually known outside of the ring. For his criminal record, for associating with lil wayne and Justin beiber, for commenting on his thoughts on UFC, there's just a lot for GGG to need to do to catch up with him. I wish GGG the best tho but only time will tell.
