    :lol::lol::patsch:patsch:rofl:rofl

Turns out it's only around 130k.

I told y'all this wasn't a PPV fight. No knowledgable boxing fan should have wasted their money on this fight.

At least with the Mayweather card, we had 2 very very very somewhat even fights with Jack/Groves, Martinez/Salido

But for this, not only was the co-main event a fight where the favourite was 17-1 odds over his opponent, the main even was just as bad. 17-1. :tired

It just goes to show that GGG is not as big as many (99%) of this forum had claimed, not even close. I would not be surprised if his next fight was on HBO and not HBO PPV.

    :hi:

I hope it's not that low, that's embarrassing as ****.

Now Bummyluvkin will never step up, he'll just be another MW Abraham with more defenses.

I honestly was expecting 300k-500k buys, they were hyping this fight like crazy. I've seen plenty of commercials everywhere.

I think Golovkin was pushed on ppv too early, especially against an opponent like Lemieux. If I remember correctly, the entire super six super middleweight tournament wasn't on ppv and that involved established fighters with championships at stake. Golovkin needs to build up his brand some more before he is put at the top of a ppv program.

No, his brand is fine. He just needs his crossover fight at this point. He's at the cusp of being mainstream. When you're at that point, you'll never get over the hump until you fight your "Oscar De La Hoya". As it was with Mayweather, Pac fighting Oscar, Canelo fighting Mayweather. Cotto fighting May/Pac, etc.

This is as good as it'll get for GGG until he gets that fight. Reason why they're pushing so hard to get Canelo or Mayweather. They know that is their "Oscar De La Hoya" and the fight that'll get them over the final hump to become mainstream.

Like how many times have you gotten a random whiff of misinformation and raced to click the "start new thread" button to post stupid garbage like this?

I thought once Floyd retired that he'd fade into the distance. I was wrong. :-(

Obviously his brand isn't "fine" enough for him to headline a successful ppv card. Don't get me wrong. I like Golovkin. He is a good fighter and seems like a good person. However, I refuse to pay for these halfass ppvs anymore. PPVs should be reserved for superfights not fights like Mosley v Mayorga 2. If you will buy trash, people will try to sell it to you. The only way we are going to get quality fights is to refuse to pay for fights that aren't.

Pretty sure about 100k of those views were Nicaraguans wanting to see their hero Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a God to them and there's a bigger Nicaraguan population in the U.S than Kazas.

His brand is fine. He is a boxing star. His exposure his great. Apple Commercials, ESPYS, ESPN, etc. He is a bonafide boxing star.

PPV star is different. People don't realize how hard it is to make it on PPV, especially for a Khazak who's still not quite mainstream. Even Mayweather just bombed in his PPV after setting the record. The PPV world is cutthroat and tough.

For Golovkin, his brand is fine but he'll never ever ever get over the hump to become a PPV-mainstream star until he gets his crossover fight just like all the other PPV fighters had to do in the past. That fight is in Canelo or Mayweather, plain and simple.

He's reached his limit as far as his brand as of now. He hit the ceiling. He's cusp of mainstream, and that ceiling can't be broken by "building his brand some more". The ceiling is broken by getting the crossover fight. That's where he is at.

People will be surprised at Canelo/Cotto's buys. It wont hit a million. People dont understand how ****ed the mainstream still is regarding boxing and PPV.

Are you denying that Nicaraguans didn't buy the ppv for Gonzalez? Are you really that ignorant?

Nicaragua is a small island country in South America, they have always been HUGE boxing fans. From Arguello, to Mayorga to Gonzalez. Every Nicaraguan I know knows who Gonzalez is.
