Does anyone else find Foreman/Jones' hypocritical commentary hilarious?

Roy may know what fundamentals look like but he never learned how to use them himself. He traded the long tedious drilling of fundamentals for the shortcut of steroids.

 

Hey, they probably learned the hard way of what can go wrong when you stray from fundamentals, or maybe they understand that they could have been even better if they'd stuck more closely to the basics.

 

Jones Jr was maybe the most athletically gifted fighter I recall seeing. He got away with doing it wrong forever.

Foreman always looked wild.

Maybe they "knew the rules" so they felt they could break the rules?

 

Big George was superb. ''The referee is going to be the most important man in the ring tonight, apart from the fighters.'' Legendary.

Or when he used go on about fighters coming into the ring BONE DRY.

I liked Foreman. Very entertaining. I don't like Roy as a commentator, his voice/accent gets on my nerves.

 

Foreman was also often hypocritical in explaining what fighters should and shouldn't be doing. Anything Bernard did in the Tito fight was wrong. He either needed to avoid mixing it up with Tito or he needed to jump on top of Tito instead of giving him room--whatever suited George's agenda... He was the worst.

 

Oh yeah mate then go on take some steroids and you'll be a champ too in no time, right?

Foreman was the ultimate contrarian as a commenter. I think it sometimes seemed like he would just disagree for the sake of disagreement.

I see George and Roy quite differently, Roy I think is pretty good other than he gets jacked up too often and carried away. George I see as not so bright. He is like a clued out big harmless oaf as a announcer imo. Not always, occasionally he surprises me but overall each broadcast will have me shaking my head at least once or twice at him. The funny part is I don't mind big George in the booth.

 

Maybe the two of them should repeat a disclaimer before each broadcast.
