I literally dont know any people that i work with who knew who GGG was...Literally not one.Well Maybe a few.. They Know Floyd, Pac, Cotto and Canelo... The buzz for Cotto/canelo is huge at my work... All kinds of bets are being made.! Thats how you know who is a Boxing star, and GGG aint one..
building gggs brand=beating cans of tomatoes...or do you say tahmahto? he had a chance to fight another "boxing" star...but he ran ....all hail the king of kahzquackcan
They made fun of Floyd-Berto 500k yet their savior barely did 130k, Little G can only dream of doing TBE numbers!
Floyd, Pac, Cotto, Canelo = PPV stars Reason why your "casual" friends knows about their fights. Golovkin is a boxing star. Reason why majority of your "casual" friends have not heard about him. PPV star is basically another term for crossover star. We can agree those four are crossover stars. Golovkin is a boxing star meaning he is a star among boxing fans but has yet to make the crossover transition. He's on the cusp, but he's not there. In order to do that, he'll need to have his "Oscar De La Hoya" fight or his signature win so to speak. He'll get that by either fighting a crossover star in either Canelo, Cotto, or Mayweather.
ya..its nice to sell 500k and have that 32 mil guarantee....thats what happens when you become a boss in the sport....remember when the triple quack fans said that ggg would soon become the new floyd? yeah...not so fast....it was all good just a week ago
Most of that 130,000 came from Lemeux's hardore fan base. It seems that Golovkin pulls in Margarito type PPV numbers. :rofl
Well those guys were lunatics. Seems to me anyone level headed her in the forum said 200k would be a massive success and the event is structured to break-even around 150k. I've said multiple times those people posting fantasy numbers like 500k (which would be outrageous for a first PPV, especially since no US or Latino fighter is involved) are pulled from thin air. Fantasy numbers.
Actually I heard from a reliable source that 100k of those PPVs were in Nicaragua (you know, that small island in the Carribean...what?). Also 90% of those in attendance at MSG were Nicaraguans. They all left after Roman finished. On their way out they could be heard saying to each other: "Grenadine McGlovin? The **** is that?"
