Here's a copy-paste of what I wrote you last night on this very topic. They probably do see star potential from GGG, which is why they're stroking him with what they know are potentially empty promises. I don't doubt that. I'd be willing to venture a guess that they see short term dollar signs as a higher priority to future star potential. I think Canelo beats Cotto, possibly even stopping him in the latter half of the fight. But I think Cotto can get off to a fast and efficient start. As long as their fight is decently competitive through the midway point, I continue to believe there will be exceedingly high chances of a rematch coming to fruition. I think a Cinco de Mayo rematch between Cotto and Canelo makes everyone involved a lot of dough, and that barring a mismatch, the powers that be will capitalize on this and exploit the situation. Maybe Cotto-Canelo will be a one-sided mismatch. And maybe it will be controversy free. At the end of the day, the WBC is going to do what they always do - whatever they deem best for themselves. If that so happens to coincide with Golovkin's best interests, then you're correct. But I'd be very surprised if what's in the best interests of the WBC is perfectly aligns for what's best for GGG. Let me ask you this: Which generates more money for the powers that be? 1. A Cinco de Mayo showdown between Golovkin and the Cotto/Canelo winner? ~or~ 2. A Cinco de Mayo big drama rematch between Cotto and Canelo? :smoke
If things start to go bad for Cotto he'll take a knee AGAIN against Canelo. He's not the type to go out on his shield
This Bumlovkin jabroni should accept what ever catch weight is put up on the table and shut up about it. He ain't getting a fight with either at 160. The more i read about his demands and conditions , the more im turned off him. Willing to fight Froch at 168. Ward CW only Willing to drop down for Floyd and Pacman. Refuses outright to drop a few pounds for Cotto/Canleo and Lara. 5 Duck we should be calling him Ducked 154 168 175 Lara Ward
Depends how the fight goes, and I'm thinking it'll be less competitive than what people think with Canelo knocking out Cotto mid-rounds. But hey, you and I continue to argue and argue on this. It's seriously is so tiresome. Not sure why you bother to continue arguing with me when you and I both know it won't make any difference in either of our views. You don't believe WBC will strip if there is a rematch. I do. That's the end of it. No point in arguing any further because everything past that is speculation and opinion. We'll just have to see what happens.
And he should take it like a man. The man , the God , The myth , the Legend his fanboi's make him out to be.
I hope canelo wins because cotto is a total b!tch and will hide from glolovkin forever. canelo's mexican pride won't allow him to duck golovkin.
I'm just trying to follow your logic here. Time and time again you state your faith that (A) Canelo will face GGG next, by next May I believe you said, and (B) that if that doesn't happen, the WBC will strip the winner. You seem capable of drawing logical conclusions at times, and you seem to understand the principle "follow the money" (at least when it suits your purposes), so I'm still not understanding why you seemingly have unwavering faith in the WBC. It's fascinating. :smoke
