    Man i hate to say it but neither Canelo or Cotto is gonna get into the ring with triple g anytime soon imo.

    If Canelo wins its -> Viva Mexico, Golovkin who?

    If Cotto wins its -> "Miguel Cotto with do whats best for Miguel Cotto, and in this case it's getting the **** out of here".

    Roach says that if they win, Golovkin is next. Of course, it is a big if, plus Cotto can easily overrule him.

    Because Mauricio seems to be making a truly, honest attempt to bring boxing back together. He has stated his displeasure of having so many different champions in a division, and I believe him. He doesn't come across as a bad guy to me. He has been making it clear to everyone, and the time he's spent making it clear, publicizing this position let's me know that HE knows he will lose a lot of credibility if he's been blatantly lying... and I think he holds his integrity higher than that. He may have had fumbles in the past, but I'm seeing an honest attempt here. But that's just my take.

    The fight, as Mauricio said recently, will be either Spring or Summer. Sounds about right to me.

    Not arguing with you anymore. It's pointless. Buh-bye.

    Cotto won't be getting into a ring with GGG no matter what catchweight he demands. I'd love to see Cotto demand a CW of 154 and GGG take him up on it.

    But it doesn't matter because Canelo's going to win, and in a style where a rematch will be not be needed. He takes an easy fight, then it's Canelo-GGG on Cinco de Mayo.

    I'm just not seeing it.

    After Golovkin so thoroughly dominated and outclassed Lemieux, unless Oscar's doing bumps off hookers' bottoms every night, I just cannot see him sacrificing his #1 commodity off so quickly. Especially since they will then be in a position of extreme leverage with so many lucrative avenues to pursue.

    Mayweather won't fight Canelo. If he KO's Cotto then a rematch is most likely off the list. A Golovkin fight would be one of the most lucrative avenues.

    I just think Canelo wants the big fights and the prestige. Hell he got in the ring with Floyd when he was what? 22 or 23 years old? He'll fight GGG...I agree he'll have to overcome DLH's objections (read "fear he'll lose his money tree").

    I don't doubt for a second that Canelo will want the fight, but you nailed it with "fear of losing the money tree". If Oscar ISN'T fearful of losing his golden goose, then I have to believe he's resumed his habits with the hard drugs - because he should be concerned with a powerhouse like Golovkin.

    I'm not saying I think Canelo-Golovkin will never happen. But I don't see GBP realistically charging towards it like a raging bull, either. Golovkin already commands star power and a taste of the rewards that come along with that. The leverage he'd have after presumably beating Cotto should amplify this tremendously, I would think.

    Didn't you close your previous post to me with a "Buh-bye"?

    If you expanded the selective highlighted portion of that excerpt to include the previous 10 words, it gives a better context of what I was saying.

    In other words, with that type of leverage amplifying his already ample drawing power, EVERY avenue will be even more lucrative after becoming the recognized champion of one of boxing's most historically prestigious divisions.

    And besides, in terms of long term projections, losing that title/distinction immediately after claiming it would be far less lucrative than a more carefully managed 2 year plan that can culminate with a Golovkin showdown.

    Haha, Golovkin and his team just casually laying back and being the WBC-Interim for two more years is less likely than Canelo being stripped after his fight.
