    ggg must accept anything.

I am against a lineal champion holding the title hostage at a catchweight.

If he beats Cotto, Canelo will drop that belt. The WBC will support GGG to fight for the belt at 160 not 155. Unless Canelo knows something we don't. Canelo is staying at 154.

Cotto should have dropped the belt as soon at this fight was made and fight at 154.

Hopefully the WBC will make the fight at 160 since GGG is a bigger name than Martinez and Geale.

Lol, sorry for being crass. But to me their situations are very, very different.

Canelo fights in Golovkin's weight class.
If he becomes full WBC champ, will be Golovkin's mandatory
If he fights GGG, it'll be a unification fight.

    Ward fights above Golovkin
    Isn't his mandatory
    Isn't a unification fight

Catchweights for non-title fights are completely different from unification fights. Plus, GGG's team will negotiate with Canelo on this matter. Ward didn't even pick up the phone regarding it to negotiate, so guess he didn't care about the fight right now as much as he leads people on to think.

exactly so Canelo can weigh in @ 155 if he wants but Golovkin shouldn't care and come @160

I'm cool with that.:good If Canelo wants to try and make these unfair stipulations, then GGG needs to come in at MW full limit if he wants.

Let's all thank Maravilla Martinez for starting all this mess.
If he chose to fight his number 1 contender GGG and passed a torch to him, all this circus could have been avoided. Now 2 years passed and the main MW title has become a joke of itself wandering somewhere in a catchweight zone making a mockery of what was once a well respected belt. And to add more, majority of fans here support the idea. Do these boxing fans even care about the sport of boxing?

Only thing that surprises me is people's shock at this news, and the fact they didn't know this would happen. Canelo draining himself to the level he does to make 154 and to have a big size advantage as possible should give people their first clue to this guy's mental make up.

He also delayed the Cotto fight for a year because of the "date" when the truth is he didn't want to fight G if he won. As far as G, who cares, he was willing to to go down to fight Pac and Floyd so no one should feel bad for him either, plus the Ward thing..this is where we're at in boxing, people looking to make names, then get advantages from those names.

Cotto-Canelo winner dropping the belt would be the most humiliating and cowardly thing to do :rofl:rofl

Sure they can have a rematch or even a trilogy but it won't matter. GGG gets his belt and marches on towards WBO champ.

My God how can someone defend that? Canelo comes in at 170+ on fight night, his WBC 30 day weigh in was 168, he's rated #1 by WBC at 160.

Why in the world is he talking about a catchweight? :-:)-:)-(

Exactly. This is the main question. People are dissing GGG now that the news came up but they fail to ask Canelo why he continues to fight at 155. Can't he make 154? Is there a 155 division? What for do weight limits exist? Do belts matter anymore? Should he fight AND defend at 160?

    Question:

Why is Canelo paying sanctioning fees for a BELT sanctioned at 160 yet when he wins it he wants to defend it at 155? :huh:huh:huh

    1 .- Saul Alvarez (Mexico)
2 .- Jorge Sebastian Heiland (Argentina) INTL
3 .- Tureano Johnson (US) SILVER
    4 .- Arif Magomedov (Russia)
    5 .- Ryota Murata (Japan)
6 .- Michel Soro (France) EBU
    7 .- Avtandil Khurtsidze (Ukraine)
    8 .- Dominic Wade (US)
    9 .- Curtis Stevens (US)
10 .- Andrey Meryasev (Russia) BALTIC
    11 .- Daniel Geale (Australia)
    12 .- Nick Blackwell (GB) BBB C
    13 .- Tony Jeter (US)
    14 .- Eamonn O'Kane (GB)
    15 .- Hugo Centeno (US)

Why do we have 2 DIVAS paying WBC sanctioning fees for a belt they refuse to defend at the weight it's sanctioned? :fire:fire

    This is humiliating...

I agree completely.. If you can't fight Golovkin at 160 then you are not the MW champion.
