One thing people fail to understand is that people always watch their countrymen more than others. You can't compare a home guy/team to a foreigner. For example, in the 2014 World Cup, US vs Belgium game which was in the round of 16 (or 1/8 final) drew almost as many viewers as the final itself (16.6 million vs 17.3 million). That's just how it works.
Hahahaha, what did you GGG fanatics predict though? I never saw one prediction below 200k, what is this major damage control? I thought it would do at least 300k, and most predictions were 400k, or the same as floyd/berto LMFAO.
comparing an olympic medalist American in his first PPV against arturo ****ing gatti to GGGv.Lemieux is mind numbing.
Who cares?? I'm interested in who he fights and beats and his legacy, not how many people buy his hats or his PPV's or mindlessly create threads about their hero on a message board. Mayweather is gone, that's a fact. MVC is creepy as hell, fact. GGG is going to be a big star, not yet a fact, but if people are willing to get in with him then there is a good chance of him reaching that level.
GGG needs to face someone who has a big American/Mexican/British following now he is at that level. Anyone below a decent level he will not get PPV's. unless he has a stacked undercard. Im a floyd fan so the comparison is nothing but there are a lot of valid differences between now and 2005. At suppose you have to give him props for fighting himself in a position to be put on PPV. you cant disrespect that.
Say you are at bar drinking with your buddies that love boxing as much as you and on each corner they have a big TV showing past fights of past boxers, in one SRL fights, in another Tyson fights, in another Ali fights and on the other corner PBF fights. Which corner would YOU be standing at? If you say PBFs corner, you is a LIE!
