Why does Khan get such criticism for his latest string of opponents

...when he's still fighting better guys than GGG?

Algeiri, Alexander, Collazo are undoubtedly better and more proven opposition than Lemiuex, Monroe and Murray.

For whatever reason Khan is simply held to a much higher standard

because they were a carefully selected bunch of featherfisted guys stylistically tailor made for Khan against whom he still struggled against

Struggled? Khan shut out Collazo and Alexander and clearly beat Algieri.

Lemieux is as tailor made for GGG as they come. As for featherfisted, Monroe and Murray make Devon Alexander look like Gerald McClellan.

GGG is rated top 5 p4p by many on here, yet Khan is fighting and beating superior opposition.

Khan is getting flak because as others have said he's been basically marking time against carefully selected light-hitting opponents until he gets a fight with either Pacquiao or Mayweather and two of said handpicked opponents almost upset him with Diaz nearly stopping Khan a couple of times and with one training camp's worth of learning how to fight on the inside Algieri almost pulled it off. He has multiple legitimate guys he could fight, the most notable being Kell Brook, which would be a huge domestic fight, a big money fight, and one that would raise his stock notably if he won. Instead Khan's out there saying Brook has to go beat guys like Thurman(another guy Khan won't fight) and Garcia(TKO'd Khan in 4) before he's "on his level" enough to take Khan on.

With GGG the level of opposition is generally worse, but he's also taking on a large variety of styles, including not shying away from punchers, and trucking the opposition in the process. The perception is as well that he's being ducked by the big name guys, a perception that is gaining even more steam after Canelo's recent comments about the 155 lb catchweight and Cotto's post-Geale fight interview so he can't make the big fights he wants to make.

Can you blame Khan for chasing the Floyd or Pacquiao fights? Much like GGG he's trying to fight the best but is being avoided. In the meantime his opposition is actually of a higher calibre

GGG is fighting the best opposition available in his weight class. Khan has had plenty of chance to fight Kell Brook but hasn'yt

Understandably Khan was chasing the top dogs before they retire(d). Its not his fault they wanted no part of him much like a few MWs want nothing to do with GGG. The Brook fight will happen.

Same reason with why Wilder gets criticism. He's not stuck with whom he fights, he can get much better opposition in the ring with his marketing power but instead he specifically chooses no-hopers. He says "Kell Brook is a nobody" and then goes on to fight Chris Algieri. He deserves all the flame he gets.
