With me it's all about how well I think he'd do vs. other HW Champs of the past, and I think he would do very well. He's 64-3 (53) overall and 25-2 (19) in HW World title fights. He has been undefeated for over 11 1/2 years and during this time he has gone 22-0 (15) overall and 19-0 (14) in HW World title fights. He has defeated many fighters who wore world title belts at one time or another, they are- Chris Byrd W12 and KO7 Frans Botha KO8 Ray Mercer KO6 Sam Peter W12 and KO10 Lamon Brewster KO6 Sultan Ibragimov W12 Hasim Rahman KO7 (former Lineal HW Champ) Ruslan Chagaev KO9 David Haye W12 Jean Marc Mormeck KO4 Alexander Povetkin W12 13-1 (8 by KO) vs. these men. 6'6" with an 81" reach and about 245 ripped Lbs. He punches hard, he moves well, he is well prepared and well conditioned. He's been stopped but its been a long time. He only lost once with Manny Steward in his corner, their first fight together... 22-0 (15) since that loss! I'd put Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, Foreman, Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Louis, Frazier... and maybe even his big brother ahead of him, and that's about it. Sure, guys like Marciano, Charles, Walcott, Liston, Johnson, Tunney, Dempsey, Norton, and others were great too... but I don't think they'd beat W. Klitschko on most nights.
Who past or present (excluding Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, Foreman, Tyson, Lewis, and a few others) would beat him?
Well, you are one of the guys that complains about Wlad's clinching, and it's quite clear that Pulev had considered this and had decided to punish Wlad in the clinches. And you're still complaining? GTFOH ... if Pulev had ground Wlad down like that you'd be praising Pulev's genius. But he lost, so he's just another bum. :tired
Because he has held the title for many years and made a plethora of defenses That said, the division has been weak for some time and Wlad is somewhat flawed. I think head to head he would lose to many top heavyweights of the past, but you can only beat who is put in front of you, and since a few bad losses early on, he has done what he needed to do to achieve ATG status .
I would not rank Bowe over Wladmir. Wladmir has been champion and dominated his division longer than Bowes entire career. Wladmir is comfortably in my top ten, ahead of Marciano, Liston and Dempsey. H2H is a different story though.
Floyd turned pro the same year Wlad did. Lets Klitschko Mayweathers resume. -Floyd gets stopped in 11 by Genaro Hernández because it was his first 12 round fight and he wasn't trained to be a professional 12 round fighter yet despite being a two year pro. - Floyd fights Genaro Hernández and breaks his hand in the 6th round. Hasn't the versatility to adapt so quits out in his corner. - Diego Corrales knocks out Mayweather in two rounds - Aturo Gatti knocks out Maywather in 5 rounds. - Goes a laborious 12 rounds against a 4 foot tall Ricky Hatton and spends most of the fight leaning down on his back. Take off Hoya , Manny , Canelo , Marquez , Mosely , Judah , Cotto and replace them with the following and you get something similar to Wlads resume.: Vivian Harris Cory Spinks Ali Funika Vyacheslav Senchenko Paul MaCloskey Paulie Malignaggi Leonard Bundoo
He has fought the best of his era and has been dominant, Holmes is considered a great for doing less. Vlad is now months away from40
