Maybe when he's done with that he can give that list of fighters who'd go through Wlad's career 64-3 or better instead of redirecting on another tangent lol
The three most important punches for an orthodox out boxer are the jab, right cross, and left hook. Wlad throws historically good versions of each. But yeah, the elite level clinching is a nice bonus. I love how his ability in it gets mentioned as a drawback when people talk about how unfair it is, but gets downplayed when it gets brought up as an advantage when he gets matched up against other prolific clinchers like Ali and Johnson.
Wlad is not an outside fighter. Clinching isn't justified unless you are actually fighting. Clinchko doesn't fight and clinch, he just clinches and sticks his lead hand out there.
Wlad has the best footwork of any of the superheavies who have come to the top level. He has an ATG jab that he can hook off. He has a devastating lead hook and picture perfect right hand. Skills are not detracting issues with Wlad. Seriously, your ana-lysis sounds like someone who knows little of the sport.
If he's so great , why couldn't he beat Peter as easily and impressively as Vitali?? Why was he point deducted for continuous fouling against a novice , non punching Jennings who was riddled with technical errors?? Why does he have no more than 3 tools in his box?
Not an outside fighter.....gotcha. I'll be leaving this conversation so I can teach finance to my cat. There's at least some potential there.
You're taking what I said out of context. If you had read what I was responding to then you would know what I was talking about. Super Heavyweight isn't a division in pro boxing. If you are referencing Wlad having the best footwork for fighters above 6'4" that's not that impressive. Lol, it's like being proud of being the tallest midget.
He is not an ATG he has just been champ at the weakest point in heavy weight history and fought in Germany nearly all the time insuring reffs and judges that are ahem helpfull. Luckerly for him but not the non German fans no good American fighters have come along to end his reign.
No, he is an out boxer, just not a great one. How could he be when he completely failed to keep a poor conditioned flat footer sam peter outside the wheelhouse?
He's an ATG because he's set himself above all his peers bar his brother. Either way, rules have been flaunted before and will be flaunted again.
Yes, we should envy the days when diaper wearing hillbillies, Nova Scotia midgets and St Louis crackheads ruled the roost. OH, how I long for beer barrel Tony Galento challenging for the crown, or Don ****ell or Jose Roman or Coopman.... or the plethora of donut addicts and booger sugar enthusiasts from the 80's... The division almost always sucks and is always thin.
Can we long for the gallant Champs like Holmes, Holyfield , Ali etc , rather than a bunch of apple jack , hop head challengers?
Chris Arreola did challenge for the title. He is kinda all of the above rolled into one. Just saying. But yeah I get your point. Wlad is an ATG, how anyone could just sweep ten years of dominance under the rug and pretend it never happened beats me.
Wlad is a top 15-20 heavyweight champion but not an ATG fighter. He is dominant in an era of bums. Who is an ATG fighter that he beat? What i'm trying to say is, take Mayweather for example, an argument you could make to say he's an ATG is his defensive mastery. Wlad doesn't have a particular offensive or defensive mastery other than the clinch. If Wlad didn't have such a height advantage then he would be just like the other bums.
