Yup, and there are other factors why I may not be worried also. I'm a fan of Canelo as well, plus, Cotto is at the end of his career and Canelo in still in the early stages so, its just as good for boxing if Canelo wins. Major anticipation is gonna be building in these last few weeks toward this great event, that really should, and hopefully, transcends boxing.

I doubt he is either. But I wouldn't be shocked to see a few of the Brits go for Lee.

The Russian card is stacked with hard to call matches.
    Cuenca-Troyanovsky
    Chakhkiev-Afolabi
    Lebedev-Kayode
    Bivol-Ricci
    Povetkin-Wach
    Kudryashov-Duradola

Boxrec has the main event listed as Cuenca-Troyanovsky but it'll be Povetkin-Wach no doubt.

Troyanovsky is a lot more heavy handed than Yang, so I'm leaning Troya by KO.

Cuenca is equalling the "Marciano/Floydweather" record that night... history in the making and all that!
So, that has to be the main event , right?!

Is it bad that my excitement has faded because of how things have gone so far? Fighting for the middleweight title with a CW, neither wanting to fight GGG, etc...

I was super excited about this fight until a few says ago after hearing Canelos comments. I feel a little sad :(

    :-(

IMO... Canelo is willing to step into the ring with GGG !

Oscar doesn't want to lose his "meal ticket" and he is hoping to delay the fight for a couple of years.

This fight is overshadowed by the fact it's a catchweight for a title and the winner will do everything they can to avoid GGG. I always used to like Canelo but he has shown he lacks the heart and warrior spirit you'd expect from a Mexican. His fellow country men (and boxing fans in general) should turn their backs on him if he wins and then ducks GGG or demands a BS catchweight.

How is it that people are not used to catch weight madness by now?? We've been dealing with them at max level for about ten friggin years now. I hate catch weights also but I hate complaining and not looking at the positive aspect of things even more. With Cotto Canelo if you remove thinking about the catch weight you would see that we're looking at a fight where neither can complain about a weight advantage, how often does that happen?? With G fighting either of them at a catch weight, how many would pick Cotto or Canelo over G, about one out of ten or five at best?? What does this say, that hmm, maybe the catch weight is warranted (for Cotto I believe) or maybe G's skills is so much better that he wins anyway (Canelo) Catch weights are here to stay people, just be glad that they make fights that possibly would not have happened anyway.

I still can't pick a winner this close to the fight. Just shows you what a great match up this is.

I think Canelo will as usual have at least one pocket judge, so the only way for Cotto to beat him is a stoppage. I expect Canelo to fight cautiously and get a decision.
