    Oh stop whining you little *****es. Canelo is the A-side and GGG tried to do it to Ward. Ward wasn't having none of that. If GGG wants a fight with Canelo, he fights at 155 or no fight. End of.

    When he did it to Ward, the lot of you were okay with it.

    Working hard, but you're not breaking double digits with your IQ. GGG doesn't hold a belt at SMW with Ward as his mandatory. It's two different scenarios. A belt is on the line here, one guy is the others mandatory, a catchweight in this scenario is ludicrous. Canelo either defends the belt properly or drops it. It's simple.

    Alternatively, if you've got an exhibition between two champs in two different divisions with no belts on the line (e.g. Golovkin-Ward), well a catchweight is applicable in that scenario. Regardless, I'm still not a fan of catchweights and I still think GGG should fight Ward at 168, but to compare these two scenarios as synonymous is just stupid.

    Idiot, Golovkin isn't defending a SMW title and Ward isn't his mandatory. Canelo weighs more than GGG in the ring.

    He can get the belt but it won't matter because he beat no one for it.
    You guys suddenly have a fixation on belts instead of who was defeated in order to obtain it.

    I can see countless thread about ABC belts being bull, yet to make make GGG seem legit, you now have a new bolstered confidence in companies everybody was just calling useless.

    but what do you suggest ?

    linear middleweight champ wont fight at middleweight (not just abc this is linear title)

    these catch weight deals are private contracts :deal
    if he refuses to engage the wbc will force the fight with proper rules,
    champ can fight or run

    What do you mean, why should Canelo jump straight to 160?

    If Canelo beats Cotto, he'll be awarded the lineal title at 160, which he'll no doubt celebrate. And he'd then be obligated to defend it.

    If he doesn't want to play with the big boys, he can remain at 154.

    I agree. Little G could always go about collecting the belt, but it won't be attached to a Cotto/Canelo fight - unless it is on their terms.

    He fought 1 catchweight in his whole career that was to his advantage. That was against Marquez because Marquez called him out.
    Canelo wanted to fight Floyd so bad that his team wanted the 153 weight. He cried like a ***** before that and fought Mosley because Floyd would not fight him after he beat Cotto.
    Other than that, good call on the rest.
