The Raging Bull opening sequence alone pretty much>>> every other boxing movie sans maybe one or two

A movie about Floyd Mayweather would be better than Southpaw/Raging/Rocky imo.

    That'd be a documentary, not a movie.

I saw it and really liked it. But then again I'm a huge fan of Jake Gyllenhaal. They actually used the HBO production crew, so the realism was great.

Though, for the actual fights, well, there's like zero defense. Seriously none. It showed Jake getting rocked by every jab that landed... and every jab landed. I mean, boxers get hit, but they don't get hit as much as that movie portrayed, lol.

Some class On The Waterfront as a boxing film. I don't really but if it is then that's right up there with Raging Bull. Fantastic movie.

I've never been a big fan of Westerns. The Leone 'spaghetti' stylized renditions are my preferred kind in the genre. Tarantio's use of the genre as a element in his array of films I find to be genius. I will say that, Denzel in Book of Eli, a film with some western elements, I thought was exceptional, and the film itself was pretty good despite Mila Kunis' dreadful performance. It's reason enough for me to check it out Magnificent Seven. I'm also interested to see how Kurasawa is homaged.

Honestly, I couldn't sit through all 12 hours of The Seventh Samurai. It's a beautiful film; one that pioneered cinema in many ways. It just was a tedious watch for me. Of the few Kurosawa films that Ive seen, I enjoyed High and Low the most.

Here's somewhat of an obscure boxing film that is admittedly bad but a guilty pleasure none the less:

Watched the second half of this a few weeks back.

Excellent film. It's the inspiration for the film Rocky.
