    According to whom?

Did HBO ever confirm these numbers? I'm more curious than anything.

I mean, if people are really quarreling over a mere 50k buys, and HBO never confirmed the official numbers, how would we ever know for sure?

Because I'm not an idiot. To even think GGG has that much power over a premier network like HBO is absolutely silly.

    Where are you getting 50K?

K2 released the official numbers. HBO's comments go in line. Rafael made a good point, they're not lying. If they were, the numbers that would've been released would have been much higher.

The difference between 97k and 150k is approximately 50k.

And if HBO never officially confirmed the numbers, I'm not one who's apt to simply take a fighter's promoter at his word.

I could be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain that legally speaking, HBO cannot lie about these numbers if they make an official release (which is why they often remain silent). So whenever we hear numbers that aren't directly from the horse's mouth, I always tend to err on the side of caution. People with vested interests in the numbers who have no legal obligation to be accurate in their claims should always be examined with some degree of suspicion.

Because if they weren't being inflated by those with a vested interest in one of the fighters involved, and HBO has a legal obligation of honest disclosure in said matters, why wouldn't they just come out and confirm the numbers and give us an exact figure?

Not to be harsh, but to be 100% certain about something you have absolutely no personal knowledge of is not a sign of the wisest mind.

Perhaps he signed Ward without discussing with anyone and they fired him for wasting money on such a boring fighter. (just counter trolling)

Honestly, I don't care anymore. What's the difference. It's not a make or breaking to GGG's PPV s****om because he's not even a PPV star to begin with. It's not a make or break for HBO's future either.

I've never payed close attention to HBO coming out to confirm. Usually I just pay attention to what ESPN says about it since they're more than not right.

I'm not even going to reply in this thread anymore. It makes my brain hurt. You don't need to be wise to know this is complete silliness. You just need to have some common sense.

Ken Hershman and Andre Ward are good friends. During the Super Six when Ken was with Showtime he pulled a lot of strings for Andre. I wonder how he feels about this? :(

Look at this idiot bailing before he embarrases himself any more and runs out of excuses for the absolute failure of a PPV that was Golovkin-Lemieux. Typical Golovkin stan, not a leg to stand on when the truth gets shown. I said it prior to the fight, the only saving grace would have been Roman Gonzalez. The guy should have been main event.

It takes at least 1 month before they can accurately count all the PPV's. The bars and all other public places that were showing the fight. All that needs to be counted also. And why would people believe Fight Hype? Strange how they got the PPV numbers before other legit sources. Everybody knows that Fight Hype is a racist biased media outlet. They always sh!t on the white fighters and suck the black fighters d!ck!
