See alexthegreatmc? These are the morons I'm talking about. So... GGG is supposed to IMMEDIATELY fight Ward at 168, but Ward can fight a FEW total nobodies who actually aren't even LHW and that is cool because he "eventually" will fight Kovalev. Even though GGG offered to fight Ward in WARDS OWN WEIGHT CLASS and there is no actual guarantee that Ward will fight Kovalev a year from now.. but yeah, obvious duck. Normally I ignore these fools and don't even respond, but I just kinda feel like letting them make fools of themselves today.
What is confusing you about this quote? He says that Floyd is the ONLY man he'd cut weight for. Had Ward said: "I'd fight ANYONE between 164-168" then you'd have a point. But Ward put a qualifier in the sentence and if it's not Floyd he isn't cutting. Per the above GGG says he'd fight ANYONE at 168...just not Ward -- for Ward he offers 164. And Ward says he'd ONLY fight ONE dude below 168 and it isn't GGG. You get why this looks like GGG is ducking now?
Not one moron actually took ward/floyd at 160 seriously ....not one....floyd has never mentioned fighting there or against anyone from 160 or above..., while ggg has seriously entertained the idea and even pursued fights at 168.....he ducked ward.....accept it The other side of the coin is sick of your bs excuses for gggs blatant duck You try to use similar logic without realizing there's a difference ...a cut and dry difference. ..your reverse logic is flawed ...accept it
"I'd fight ANYONE between 164-168" was being said about two years ago, and even then only an idiot would take it literally. It has always been "ANYONE between 164-168 who makes sense". Ward was still making sense then, Golovkin wanted him, and HBO gave Ward that option, but he selected Rodriguez. Ward certainly doesn't make any sense now when GGG can realistically get all MW belts within a year. After that, Ward will probably be offered around 25-30% to fight at 168. I strongly doubt that he will even start bargaining (like he didn't after the 164 offer), because he is afraid to fight Gennady.
Was Ward saying that two years ago? Like documented proof? I honestly don't really care about the "he-said she-said" of this argument. I was responding to the OPs quote which essentially backed up the "GGG is ducking" camp.
Although your username implies you are a Golovkin nut hugger, you at least get my point about taking someones words literally. Some of these other guys aren't smart enough to work through it. As I said, if we went through everything every boxer has ever said and took it literally, they'd all be frauds. Good post.
Oh now we're not supposed to take guys words literally .....even when they've pursued fights at 168....we're supposed to read through it....like we're supposed to know he meant "I'll cherry pick at 168...Froch or chavez....but not an actual prime elite guy....no....I don't mean that" Let's never take an actual quote or comment for face value anymore ....ggg fan boy logic Like I said.....floyd ward was never going to happen...never serious ....floyd has never talked about 160 or guys from that division ....ggg has talked about 168 and seriously pursued fights there ......your reverse logic is seriously flawed....., no u want all quotes to be stricken from record and not taken seriously ..., even though he said "anyone".....I guess we're supposed to know that excludes ward......well it sure sounded tough when he said it..., unfortunately he can't back that up....quack quack
other than Ward's "offer" of 50/50, made after GG-Lemiuex was announced, which GG's people shat on in 36 minutes, nothing serious was ever on the table other than a flurry of accusations from both sides I agree, how is it possible for fighters to duck someone outside their division? :think
Ward don't duck no purse carrying Metros-e-x-ual Russian midget. Especially one who ducked a 50 year old Bernard Hopkins. :rofl
GGG directly offered two other fighters, fights at 168, and they weren't even titleholders. He (r I should say his people) offered THE 168-LB. CHAMP a fight at a weight class that doesn't exist (for his title, of course). It is what it is.
And Ward said he'd beat Klitschko, so he's the bigger ducker of the two. Godamn, who cares? I only say that GGG-Ward would be a great fight if it ever happens.
