Pacquiao would have knocked out Salvador Sanchez at 126

Nelson, Gomez, Marquez and Barrera we're all similar level fighters at 126.

Gomez didn't handle the move to 126 as well as expected.

Styles I give the edge to both fighters. Pacquiao doesn't like technicians with a great chin. Sanchez was bothered somewhat by Nelsons pressure before Nelson gassed
I can't imagine Pacquiao ever gassing out at 126.

I do believe 126 was Pacquiaos best weight. The only thing to suggest it wasn't was the Marquez draw. But consider Marquez was a prime ATG with the style advantage over Manny. That's a tough fight.

1st off, of the 1st 4 you mentioned Nelson beats the other 3 at 126. He actually DID beat Gomez at 126. At 126, you wrote Gomez didn't handle the move to 126 well. Maybe, but at that weight, Gomez only got beat by 2 atgs in Chava and Azumah, that's it. 3rd, you wrote that Pacquiao had problems with technicians with great chins, which, in all honesty, is EXACTLY what Nelson (and Chava) was with a punch as well. And ANY feather in history gets troubled by Nelson's pressure, including Pac. 4th you wrote you couldn't imagine Pac gassing. Could be right, but Azumah was stopped in the 15th round(his only stoppage loss and only loss period at 126) and none of Pacs fight were ever scheduled for 15, so you or I will never know.

Pac will never beat an old schooler in this board. Nevermind that Sal never fought anyobe with Pac's combination of natural gifts. Marquez > Sanchez.

I'll admit that me saying Gomez wasn't suited for 126 may have been an overstatement because his only two losses were to bona fide greats in Sanchez and Nelson.

I do believe that if Nelson tried to pressure Pacquiao that he gets finished in under 10 rounds. I cannot see any man in history going toe to toe with Pacquiao at 122-126 and not losing by knockout. Even the big 130 pound version of Morales played counterpuncher against Pacquiao.

What is so interesting to me about Sanchez vs Pacquiao is they both do things that would bother the other man. Pacquiao with his power, workrate and pressure would take Sanchez into deep water (deeper than Nelson). Likewise Pacquiao would have to become an accumulation puncher to stop Sanchez (only way I see him winning) because Sanchez's chin was so ridiculous. And the technical ability of Sanchez was something to behold.

I see what ur saying here, but Azumah didn't have great power, workrate and pressure? Sanchez fought several 15 round fights against formidable opposition. I simply don't understand the comment about Manny taking Sal into "deep waters" when he'd already been there several times especially against Azumah.

No offense but what did Marquez( I'm a fan btw) do better than Sal? And who did Pac EVER beat that was better than Sal? Just curious.

Pac really didn't come into his own until he was around jr. light/jr.welt, at feather he was still very raw, big hitter of course but raw, against A Sanchez not only do I see Sanchez winning, I see Sanchez stopping him. esp in a 15 rounder.

Actually, IMO Pacquiao peaked at 126. His greatest victory came at 126. He had 13 fights at 122-126 and only 1 man (prime Marquez) went the distance against him.

Physical boxing is overrated by the casual fan, but I think it's underrated by the more hardcore, dedicated fans. Physical boxing just like technical boxing is a legit and effective style when used properly.

Raw he may have been at 126, but that's where he carried his greatest attributes. And no matter how skilled Pacquiao later became he was still always dependent upon his power, chin, speed and workrate above all else.

I just confirmed what I thought, Pacs best wins were 129 and 140, not below 126, so yes he was physically strong at 126, but he was raw at that weight, and I just don't see him really being competitive with Sanchez who was fighting at his best fighting weight.

Pac's best performance by far was the first Barrera fight. And that was at 126.

Pacquiao's just gone and become the most underrated fighter ever this year.
5 years ago he was the most overrated fighter ever, on this very same forum.

No, I don't think he KOs Sanchez, but he has at least 50% chance of winning that fight.

Yep I can imagine him being overrated 5 years ago when he was riding that incredible decade of permforance.

But now that's he declined people are jumping on his limitations and not giving him his due.
