I knew a mortgage broker from Florida about 20 years ago who said that he had encountered heavyweight Jeff Sims sometime in the 80's. Apparently sims was a real headcase and constantly getting into brawls, thrown in jail, etc... One time I guess he was apprehended by the police and it took like five cops to get him into a squad car.
Interesting read on Sims: http://www.nytimes.com/1982/11/27/sports/sports-of-the-times-bulletproof-boxer-is-healthy-again.html

Rahman and Lewis studio brawl. Max Baer and Tommy Farr almost went at it during one of Tommy's training session
Tommy Morrison once got drunk and assaulted a college student for looking at him funny in a restaurant.
I read where Rocky Marciano knocked out a guy who owed him money with a left hook. Long after he retired from boxing. Also I remember a documentary with Bert Reynolds saying he was going to sucker punch Rocky to impress some girls but when he got close Rocky looked at him and said "don't even think about it." That was more than enough to stop Bert. Although Bert could be just making it up but if its true it's hilarious.
Smokin' Joe was alleged to be an actual bad ass told a group of thugs that he was going to kill all of them if the graffiti, which they denied creating, wasn't covered. It was covered by the end of the day.
Sorry Janitor, but i think this article pretty reliably puts an end to this myth. It was an April Fools Day Joke! The story never really did seem right. The story had Griffo throwing a punch at Corbett and having it blocked before corbett kicked him and knocked him out. Hard to believe anyone would believe it. As if Corbett had the speed to block a Young Griffo blow. Griffo would have knocked him cold with a punch! http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/121352357?searchTerm=corbett griffo&searchLimits=
