Somebody created a thread some months ago as to why the Russians have come over and been dominant all of a sudden, so early in their careers. I said,

1- because their doping techniques are the best in the world

2- They are sponsored by the Russian government

3- They get started very early while they are still growing

Of course all of the Kovlubes/Golovkunts did what they do; "you're a racist, bla-bla...you're just mad because blacks are losing, bla...bla...etc."

Voila! The New York times breaks a HUGE story today about the Russian amateur athletic program being involved in the biggest doping scandal in the history of athletics...

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/10/sports/russian-athletes-part-of-state-sponsored-doping-program-report-finds.html?_r=0

Let me just save you the time here:

"They are talking about running and jumping and winter athletics, the boxers are as clean as the Brady Buch...bla-bla..YOU RAYCISS!"

Well, I have nothing to say about that, as Mark Twain once said,

"Never argue with an idiot onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

There are so many things I would like to say with the little moron fanboys who felt that they could ridicule me, but as I'll probably get my monthly vacation out of this (linking a true article from the most well respected newspaper in the world) anyway, I'll just let a very underrated musician say it for me...(You'll have to tax yourselves using a little imagination here, simply substitute your name for the gentleman he's talking about)...

I started that topic, and I got banned for two weeks. That is how Scott Gilfoid, aka The Professor, works on this website.

Are you ignoring the expose? It's hard to to ignore how far up it goes when it's systematic.

Actually, their doping techniques aren't the best in the world; they have too many positive tests to take that "honor".

Let's also not pretend that they're entering a clean playing field in boxing, either.

In regards to Kovalev and Golovkin yes I'm ignoring it.

Golovkin is from Kazakhstan it doesn't apply.
Kovalev was far from a star amateur far favored son of Russia, that was Beterbiev and Sergey became a knockout artist more of less after turning pro and fighting out of the US for the majority of his carrer.

And the Klitschkos, Loma, Usyk, Gvozdyk etc who are so dominant are Ukrainians, who are anything but buddy buddy with Russia and most likely don't prescribe to their doping practices.

I'm guessing "the Russians" referred to by the OP include anyone with an Eastern European name that's had success here in the past decade.

That said, a ton of people are doping everywhere. That doesn't make it right that Russia does it. It is the unfortunate climate of sport today, and it's been like this for decades.

Yep this is true. This investigation would have no relation to any boxer or athlete outside of Russia so boxers like Kovalev and Golovkin who are based in the US would not be within the remit of RUSADA and this investigation.

Of course doping occurs outside of Russia and athletics as the lead investigator in this case said, it would be naive to think this report only has ramifications to just Russia and athletics.

The IAAF are not coming out looking good in this either, it seems they could have prevented Russian athletes competing in London but didn't and there have been a number of IAAF officials who have been implicated in wrong doing.

Interpol are also involved and I expect a number of people to be arrested and charged. There really needs to be a clamp down and countries need to adopt an approach like France and Germany where doping is now a criminal offence, so any sports person caught doping can expect a prison sentence for their wrong doing instead of a short ban.

The New York Times didn't break this story. The story was broke in Germany last year. The above press conference was to brief out the details of an independant enquiry by WADA that was initiated after the story originally broke in Germany.
