The Sad part is that many have forgotten the nice run Martinez had at Middleweight

Martinez was/is a better Champ than GGG, counting an interim title is bs GGG has only been a real Champion since 13/14".

Martinez actually fought fighter's who've been P4P rated and considered elite, guys like Lee there hyping for GGG couldn't even win a title during Martinez's run.

Too bad Martinez never wanted to find out vs GGG:rofl

Didn't even want to find out vs Pirog.
GGG was going to make his U.S./HBO debut vs Pirog as a late replacement.

That was not exactly a peak Martinez, now was it? The reward was MUCH higher for the amount of risk.

Yeah. That guy. A shell of his 2007 self who would've sparked Martinez

He was looking just fine before he fought Martinez.

Only guy who had beaten him in recent years was Hopkins who was 2 weight divisions bigger than him.

He's the only guy to beat Pavlik at MW. Martinez earned his accolades. He was a good champ with sn exciting style. He languished in obscurity for a lot of his career, but seized the opportunity when it presented itself. He was THE guy at MW for a good 3 years or so. Not bad for a dude who picked up boxing at near 20 years old.

He didn't have to earn everything he got. He got a gift decision against Murray. I give him Pavlik, although Pavlik was coming off being exposed and sent into a death spiral by the Hopkins clinic. Pavlik was still a solid middleweight. I don't give him Murray, as Murray got robbed. Paul Williams, was a 147/154 pounder. Dzinziruk was a 154 pounder, and not that good. Di Bella had to pull strings to get Barker ranked in the top 15, because he was not that good to begin with either. Chavez Jr. was also not that good, he simply outweighed his opponents by 30 pounds in the ring. Martinez run was nothing special. He avoided Pirog, and Golovkin, instead opting to fight guys that didn't bring him any more money then those two opponents would have. Martinez is over rated. A product of selective match making. Murray was giving him the business. Cotto, gave him the business. It's a shame that Martinez didn't have the ***** to fight either Golovkin or Pirog.

Oh yes everyone is ducking GGG GTFOH, GGG did nothing at any point during Martinez's reign from 10-14" to warrant a title shot over the opponents he faced.

No matter how hard you try to denie it GGG didn't become a relevant fighter til last year.

Also out of Martinez's own mouth before signing the Cotto bout, that he was taking a Cotto bout for money then GGG after in a unification.
Just so happen he lost to Cotto and the rest is history, no top level elite fighter is ducking GGG.

How do you duck a guy who's never even beaten a World Champion, to face a guy who's proven elite fighter??

Martinez was injured during the Murray fight. A fact that even Murray admits himself.

Of course Dzinziruk, Macklin, Barker, Murray deserved Martinez fight more than Golovkin :nono

Only an idiot or a troll can deny that prime Sturm, prime Geale, Quillin, Martinez, Barker were ducking Golovkin. That was publicly accepted by Sergio's and Barker's promoters, DiBella and Hearn.

So, STFU and crawl back into your dirty hole.

Martinez traded that belt for money.
Like Cotto and Canelo now, Martinez wanted no part of the best fighter in his division.
That WBC belt should be pink

Cut him some slack Ol' Bub GGG's best wins before Martinez made the fight against Murray were Proksa and Rosado, which wasn't that impressive, and from that point on Sergio was a gimp.
