Over 15, I would expect LaMotta to catch up with and maul, batter and abuse Martinez to 14th or 15th round tko.
sergio's skill set was an interesting one. he was awkward, quick and elusive at times but also easy to find at other times. in all his big fights he was found by guys you would think he could hit and not get hit by all night. i think jake would find him eventually and not let him get away.
LaMotta would have hated this stylistically...But I think LaMotta would win this on aggression. LaMotta W15
Lamotta by UD or late KO. As Chavez Jr. showed, even ineffective pressure can wear down Martinez over time. Lamotta is 10 times the fighter Chavez Jr. is, and his pressure would start to be effective after chasing Martinez for 4 or 5 rounds. Once Jake figured Sergio out, it would start to turn one sided. Martinez might have a slight chance for decision over a short fight of 10 rounds or less. After that it would be all Lamotta. Only question would be whether Martinez makes it to the final bell. Obviously, Martinez isn't putting a dent in Lamotta.
Well if Macklin gave him plenty of trouble and it took Martinez 10 or 11 rounds to stop him,I think La Motta gets to him earlier and stops him.
Are you taking the Sergio that Chaves fought to be prime? Does Jake get to come in the ring as a cruiserweight?
Apples and oranges though. Chavez Jr. is a much, much bigger man than Jake LaMotta. (not to mention that Martinez was arguably past his prime and allegedly suffered a broken hand in the fight)
This is fun. If LaMotta can be outboxed, defeated, and even staggered by guys like Robert Villemain and Laurent Dauthille...
