So apparently Wilder wants the winner of Klitschko v Fury instead of Povetkin

I said this before. Povetkin had his chance, and now it's Wilder's turn.

Would make for a more exciting division if he fought Povetkin and the 4 fighters agreed that the winners would square off with one another.

Almost certainly a rematch for Povetkin with Wlad, but it would be a great 3 fights.

I've speculated for some time that Wilder would try to get out of his Mandatory with Povetkin. Total Duck if he does that. Especially since he requested to be allowed a third voluntary defense by the WBC. I think Wlad will wait and let Wilder and Povetkin settle their fight and then unify.

How can it be a duck if he goes on to fight a much better opponent?

Since the start of the con game that is Wilder's bogus career, I have always said that the plan was to cash him out in big money fight against Wlad.

The endless fights against stiffs have all been to make sure nothing interfered with this.

So here we are at the endgame, where Wilder's pathetic chin will get brutally exposed.

If Wilder winds up shooting for fighting Klitschko instead of Povetkin, don't see how anyone can fault him for that. Klitschko is the champ, a superior fighter and already beat Povetkin. Who wouldn't take a shot at being the undisputed HW champ?

If he ducked him to fight anyone else I'd lose respect for him.

I want to see a solid opponent in January, then either Klitschko or Povetkin next. If that doesn't happen, I will stop defending him.

Well if I was Povetkin's camp I would furious and rightfully so. Wilder get's Molina, Duhaupas and requests a 3rd voluntary. While Povetkin fights Takam, Perez, Wach and then for Wilder to go for Wlad after he has been on record as saying he would fight Povetkin. It's a duck. If he does that. I'll give him benefit of doubt though. He hasn't even named his next opponent. This is too far down road.,

If Wilder was to beat Klitschko, I would imagine he'd give Povetkin a title shot. If he didn't, it wouldn't matter anyway.

    Klitschko > Povetkin.

I wouldn't call it a duck if Wilder fights Wlad first. Wlad is the better fighter and THE champ :)

He would probably vacate the WBC title. His entire career so far seems to be as little resistance as possible.

They're thinking of bypassing the defense and moving straight into a match with the winner of Klitschko v Fury I guess.

It's Pov's team who informed WBC that they won't be ready by January to fight Wilder. That's why Wilder's getting another voluntary.

I still think Wilder/Pov will happen on April or May like Pov's team said.

I'd still prefer it if there was a Povetkin bout before, if Wilder was to beat him there'd be more buzz going into the Klitschko fight...

He's a champ. He has title defense obligations. I think it's ridiculous if they allow him to avoid Povetkin, even if it is a better opportunity for Wilder.
