He would be close. The only problem for Froch is he can't say he was the best in his division. He already earned more respect than Calzaghe though. Lewis was top 5 atg at his weight so Froch is correct there.

Nobody talks about paper here, you imbecile. Golovkin is a dominant champion who is head and shoulders above anybody at his weight. Carl isn't (or at least wasn't) a big SMW, so he will not have a big size advantage. I doubt that he could win, but if he did, that would be his best win.

Lewis was sparked twice and only beat greats when they were completely finished and went on to lose to absolute bums.
Top 10 ATG heavyweight, maybe top 5, beat every man he faced, one of the better heavyweight resumes, and was a dominant champion. Froch is a warrior but, Ward made him his *****, Kessler was also just as good as Froch during his reign and Froch only beat him when slightly past his best. What ATG has Froch beaten even one that were completely finished? Lewis ranks higher, he is one of the greatest fighters from the most prestigious division in boxing which has existed from the beginning. Froch was a good champion in a division that has only existed for 31 years and was never the number 1 fighter in his own division unlike Lewis, hell Froch may have not even been number 2 with Kessler beating him. As for beating Golovkin, that would be an excellent win, but how it would be seen would be defined by what Golovkin would go onto to do. Golovkin is highly rated but he has proven little beyond possibly being the best in a weak division. I don't think a win against Golovkin makes him the best British fighter ever.
Well I don't think Calzaghe or Froch could be rated ahead of Lewis. He wiped out the entire HW division, and he's one of the few modern day HW's that would probably fare well in H2H matchups with ATG HW's of the past. The point is moot though because Jimmy Wilde is by FAR and away the greatest fighter the UK has ever produced. Greatest Flyweight of all time (only other guy that can get consideration is the great Pancho VIlla,) and retired with a 132-3 record.
No Wlad has beaten the better competition, Calzaghe beat a similar level of competition as Lewis and has wins over a few past it shells like Lewis as well, they're about even but the lack of KTFO losses on Calzaghe's record puts him slightly ahead.
