Rousy did what she could which wasn't much. Got to give Holm full credit here, she was the superior boxer and her takedown defense was great. Rousy couldn't just get in close and manhandle her like she's done so many others.

Don't see how a rematch would play any different. The gap in boxing skill is way wider between Holm and Rousy than is there ground and wrestling game.
Holm dominates and smashes Rousy again in a rematch.

The mark of a great fighter is the ability to take the big shots, big kicks, big punches to the face and to stay on your feet for eternity or if you get knocked down, to get back up asap.

Rousey failed and this has diminished her standing in the sport big time

Rondy Rousey has got a housewife's chin that's why she couldn't stay up on her feet.

It has little to do about chin in this bout. Rousy was so outclassed she was getting hit square. The knockout kick puts any woman away the way it was landed. Rousy was getting up and turning to Holm when Holm delivered that kick, Rousy was not in position to see it.

Rousey had zero head movement. That time she missed and tumbled against the cage was this fight in a nutshell.
Like you said earlier I even reckon she would win easier in the rematch. Without the nerve factor and after what happened tonight and taking what she can from it to a rematch, I don't see how she would even ever lose a round against Ronda ever. She was just utterly outclassed from the outside and only got in a position to do anything at all when allowed.
As if the Mayweather talk wasn't ridiculous enough before this.
Still have her stopping Broner though..:yep

Awful game plan by Ronda. The arrogance to think that she could outbox a world class boxer. Walking after Holm, no lateral movement, standing in front of her with no head movement, not throwing any meaningful feints, not getting her lead foot on the outside of Holm's. She had the mindset that quite a few MMA people have; standing still in front of your opponent with no head movement and throwing a 1-2 constitutes boxing.

I'm not going to say that Holm boxed beautifully due to the level of "boxing" competition she had in front her. Holm, boxing wise, did the basics as that is all that she needed. I was more impressed by how she defended against Ronda's takedowns, her foot work to keep the range (because you can takedown in MMA this adds an extra dimension than boxing) and kicking - not overly extravagant. All her kicks were efficient and the right type of shot at the right time.

It was good to see a boxer in the Octagon who wasn't miles past their prime. Boxer's need their quick footwork to evade the takedowns. An old, fat James Toney who didnt even have the quickest of feet in his prime was never going to win an MMA fight.
