Nobody wants to see Wlad Povetkin 2, lmao.

Maybe. But what casuals think doesn't change the fact that Povetkin is the only one who deserves to step in the ring with Wlad to determine the undisputed champion. :good

I agree, they're just empty threat's, he basically knows like his handlers he's completely lucked in at the right time to get the WBC belt. I had never watched a full fight of his until today against Molina, i couldn't believe how bad he looked, chin in the air all the time, looked frightened after getting tagged from friggin Molina, his movement was terrible. Just looked completely rubbish. Imagine Molina had won, a guy who was KO'd in one against Arreola, holding the WBC belt, as if the HW division could be insulted anymore.

Right or wrong, he already had his shot. Beating a few second tier fighters doesn't necessarily mean he deserves a rematch. He may get one if he keeps winning though.

Not happening, so not worth talking about. Sconiers is retired and probably weighs 400 pounds by now.

People are idiots to trash Wilder for going for the undisputed HW champion and favoring that over fighting Povetkin. If a unification bout does not happen, then yes he should absolutely fight Povetkin next. But who in the hell wouldn't go for a shot at being the first undisputed HW champion in ten years? Wilder would be crazy not to take that chance just to fight Povetkin, most people in Wilder's own country don't even know who Povetkin is except avid boxing fans. Its the chance of a lifetime against Klitschko.

Povetkin would only have himself to blame as well. He could have had Wilder in the ring already If he'd forced negotitations instead of taking the Wach fight.

Nichols weighed 450 lbs and was wearing Russell gym shorts and Starter gym shoes when he almost ko'd Wildman. Until Nichols team got those extra buffet vouchers to quit

Takam and Perez were not second tier fighters. They were both Top 10 ring rated fighters when Povetkin faced them. (Not to mention tnbr and boxrec) Charr and Wach were two former world title challengers and fringe contenders.

If they're second tier what is Molina, and Duhaupas?

Povetkin has faced good competition since his defeat. He has won convincingly against that competition and because of that he's earned a shot for Wilder's belt.

Wilder on the other hand has one top ten win on his entire resume (Stiverne) he somehow was granted an eliminator against Scott, who had just lost, without defeating any top contenders. So far he has defended his belt against subpar opposition. Everything Wilder is doing and has done is bad for the sport. To know try and reward him with a unification match with Wlad would be wrong.

I think Wlad will wait him out regardless and will fight the winner of Povetkin/Wilder and take another match in the interim. Wlad holds all the marbles.

Well Duhaupus did beat Charr. Perez is ridiculously overrated. Wach has a great chin and is big and that's about it. Takam may be the only one who has an argument for not being a second tier fighter.

But no matter what shape you wrestle the facts into, Povetkin had his shot already and fared badly.

I don't think so. Wlad-Wilder would be a huge fight. I don't think rematching Povetkin interests him that much, he wants the belt his brother vacated. He's already said he's open to fighting Wilder or Joshua after Fury.

But, if he waits it out he waits it out. I have no problem with Wilder fighting Povetkin next, I just think its foolish to assume Wilder is scared of Povetkin just because he'd rather take a shot at being undisputed HW champion of the world.

Yes Povetkin had his shot against Wlad and lost badly. So what? He has gone on to fight the best available competition and has earned a right to fight Wilder. Plenty of fighters have lost badly and have come back to earn a rematch. Wilder has done NOTHING to earn anything. To be in the spot he is in is ridiculous.

And yes Duhaupas squeaked by Charr. What about Molina that was a disgraceful cherry pick. And Duhaupas loses to Perez hands down. And to Takam and Wach.

Anyway assuming Wlad gets past Fury I still doubt this fight would be next. The WBC can be tricky with unification- they didn't let Wlad fight Stiverne and now that they are granting permission to Wilder for a 3rd voluntary I would think they would want their mandatory obligation fulfilled.
