Should Andre Ward Have Signed With The Money Team?

Instead of Roc Nation?

 

Would the Money Team pay him millions for fighting bums ? I doubt.

 

TMT has 1 good fighter left and he is from Europe.

 

He wouldn't have to been forced up to 175 like he calims!!At 168 they would of have been able to get him fights with Badou Jack and James Degale. Even a tune up with J Leon Love if he wants it? But I have a feeling if you sign with TMT you have to also sign with Haymon. Because everybody knows that Al Haymon runs TMT Promotions. Ellerbe couldn't run ****. Its already been proven the man is incompetent.

 

If he had any intention of continuing to fight at SMW he should have signed with someone who'd do business with Haymon. In fact, Haymon seems to have the bulk of the top LHWs active in the US too - so, yeah, TMT, Haymon, DiBella... take your pick.

Right now Andres big fight options are very limited - in fact I can list them on one finger (OK maybe 2, Ward vs Pascal would be pretty big too).:deal

 

To be fair never was is a good option. Haymon or Golden boy should have been the choice.

 

Haymon didn't want him. I don't know for sure if Golden Boy did or not.

That's why there was so little talk of a competition for buying out Ward's contract during the process. Every other time there was a competition for a name U.S. fighter between the two camps, a) you heard about it and b) Haymon won, even if Roc was offering stupid money.

Heck, Floyd could buy out Andre's contract tomorrow if he feally thought Ward was being unfairly treated.

Well since TMT fighters tend to fight under the PBC umbrella, it probably would have been better in terms of the number of fights that could get made.

His options are kinda limited to outside of PBC to Kovalev

 

Knowing this already then why sign with Roc Nation? Was Jay-Z his favorite rapper back in the day or summin?

 

It is an interesting question. Is Andre Ward still managed by Prince? You would have actually thought that Haymon would be the more natural choice - Hmmm.

A paranoid lunatic (like myself) might even speculate that Andre has been sent to HBO/ Roc as a fifth columnist - certainly to date he's cost far more than he's earned and if he could get a Kovalev fight lined up and then pull out at the last minute... but no, surely businessmen wouldn't use fighters as pawns like this..?

 

He gets very favorable treatment, probably the most favorable of all in the sport... The amount of money he makes given what he brings in is the most disproportionate of any fighter.

 

It's a little odd that Haymon never really made a run at Ward after taking every other major U.S. prospect Roc had their eyes on. I'd have considered that a big red flag if I were in Roc Nation's shoes.

 

Ward doesn't seem like a business savant. Get 2 million for Rodriguez.. Sue, sit out two years, and get the same amount for Smith

 

I don't get why a gold medalist unified champ with plenty of exposure would sign with an upstart not established promoter? Did he see what happened to Gamboa?

If he signed with Golden Boy or Arum or Haymon he would be on a big network vs a top fighter
