So apparently Wilder wants the winner of Klitschko v Fury instead of Povetkin

Nothing to earn anything? Maybe you feel like he had an easy ride to the title and maybe he did, but he beat who was in front of him. Regardless of what you say, you can make decent arguments Scott, Duhaupus, and Stiverne were all on the same level or close to Povetkin's last four opponents. Wilder may have a lot to prove, but to say he's done nothing is really just over-hating.

True, but like it or not Wilder is bigger business than Stiverne. They see Wilder has the potential to get the American public interested in boxing again. Stiverne they could care less about. Its a business and boxing wants butts in the seats for American fights again. Wilder has the greatest potential to do that regardless of what you think about him.

But it doesn't really matter what you and I think, Wilder-Klitschko has a good chance of happening next.

Dismiss him all you want, go look at George Foreman's last several opponents before Joe Frazier. Many people dismissed him for the same reasons they do Wilder. You just never know.

Wilder isn't big business. He hasn't drawn huge numbers on PBC and he's had to hold his fights in his hometown to barely sell out local Alabama auditoriums.
Povetkin is much bigger on a global scale. Wlad is on another level from both of them he sells out 60k seat arenas in Europe. I know Haymon is trying to manufacture a star and get the American public to bite but so far I don't think it's working. We'll see how the January fight plays out in Brooklyn. If it draws both the ratings and the fans. From a business standpoint if he draws I can see the match same way I could see a fight with Briggs materializing because of demand, doesn't mean either guy deserves it. We'll see.

To compare Povetkin's opposition to Wilders is a burden. Despite my personal sympathy for Wilder, to deny his questionable title reign is asinine. Scott's dive was the most blatant fare I've ever witnessed at world level. Stiverne is his only top 10 win, but what a win that was. Bermaine didn't win a single round.

    hmmmm...

I seem to remember Wilder crying that Stiverne
wasn't signing to fight him for months even tho
he'd won the eliminator against Scott which was
    an obvious dive...

what if Stiverne had asked for 3 tune-ups against
3rd tier bums instead of fighting his mandatory??

    :hey

Stiverne injured his hand that's why his fight with Wilder was delayed until January 2015.

I think in their mind. If they lose to Klit it will be: - Ok, everyone loses to Klitchko we can rebuild and still fight Povetkin later.

Not the last few fighters for each. Overall resume yes no question Povetkin's is far better.

However its like I said, George Foreman's resume before Joe Frazier was probably even more questionable than Wilder's.

If you think this kind of therapy will help Wlad confidence fine :huh

Wlad is too educated to be brainwashed into under-estimating Deontay Wilder, a much faster, rangier puncher than the 3 gentlemen who stopped Wlad

Wlad knows Deontay Wilder is the biggest fight of his life, his newly developed power hugs, are not be under estimated either. Deontay Wilder needs to be ready to be very physical & watch carefully how Fury deals with Wlad power hugs. (Wlad imo has the most powerful hug in boxing history...its clearly apparent that he spends most of his work outs improving every muscle in his upper torso...breaking an old boxing tradition that discouraged boxers from weight lifting :think

That's a very good point. Resumes are great for judging a career, but they don't fight fights. There was nothing to indicate on a resume that Foreman would beat Frazier, let alone in that fashion. Yet today, people would still lay down the Ali card as the ultimate trump that nobody would defeat him.
