People seem to see Quigs as our next 'big thing' in Irish boxing - lets hope they're right.

 

Blackwell was rubbish over the weekend,bjs beat him and people were saying Blackwell was top ranked,Andy to murder Bjs,20/21 with boyles(get on now)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...er.....thanks for the tip Dutchie ol pal. So you think Andy is great and Blackwell is useless? Hmmmm.....interesting!

 

Spike in great place physically and more importantly mentally has that same drive as prep against Fitzy which comes from his genuine dislike of Eubanks.

Has Blackwell coming over for couple weeks I've been sparring him and Michael Reilly sparred him today will keep you posted how sparring is going 👍

Spike sparred out of his skin against Oreilly who is one of best amatuers In world and fighting weekend in seniors, people forgetting Eubanks still raw no amatuer career and putting too much weight into spikes poor performance against Saunders where he was half fighter he is now.

Not telling guys like Spike how to box or anything but if there is one thing I would say to him, all I would say is that over the years Ive seen one thing happen soooo often with guys who can punch a bit (guys like Spike):

They put everything into landing hard shots and as a result neglect their jab, and their defence. The rounds slip by soooo quickly and you can find yourself in a rut and in a bad position on the cards very easily and it can be very hard to change mid-fight.

He must go in with a plan. The punches you avoid are as important as the ones you land. As for the jab - well if you're a hard puncher like Spike, chances are your jab is hard too, right? So it makes sense to use it, right? That is my two cents worth to Spike anyway.:good
