I like Shane McGuigan. For a young coach he seems to talk a lot of sense but watching him yesterday he said something I had never heard. My initial thought I'd that he is using some pseudo scientific garbage to back up his point but......perhaps I am wrong

In referring to Quigg Martinez (IFL interview) he said once a fighter has been knocked out they are more likely to be knocked out in the future due to damage on the nerve endings in the jaw. Talked bout this being evidenced by neurological experts.

Anyone heard similar? Can think of many fighters that don't look the same after a KO but many more that look just as good and strong - assume more psychological than neurological.

Does that mean that Frampton is more susceptible to being floored?

    It's true.

You can have the ultimate granite chin. But once you get knocked out, it's been chipped away at. So next time it still might be 95% granite, but you've lost something and sooner or later the blows that you would have eaten for breakfast are the ones that put your lights out.

Yeah, a bloke who can't read has no doubt studied up on neuroscience. Do me a favour.

With big gloves on he certainly has been knocked out, i know what Quigg was getting at in the presser.

sparring then, depends on when and who (in terms of weight), years ago against a welterweight I wouldn't put much in it

Tbh with sparring its when you try out new things so don't think it's that important if you've been dropped in it

Bringing up sparring stories is desperate. Quigg sitting there laughing at himself was dire to watch
