    Shocking. Not. We all knew he wasn't going to fight Triple G any way and this just allows for a rematch against Canelo or a fight with Floyd to open the new MGM Arena.

    I don't get this, they will let Canelo win the title if he wins the fight but do not recognize Cotto. I wonder if Canelo promised he would fight Golovkin if he won. Maybe Cotto didn't pay the sacntioning fees or something intentionally.

    Interesting, so if Cotto wins he can't win the belt. Something we all know he wants so he won't fight Triple G. Than Triple G will be upgraded to full WBC champion, and neither Cotto or Canelo will be obligated to fight him.

    If Cotto wins they can say what they want, he's still the MW Champion of the world tracing back to when Hopkins beat Trinidad.

    I imagine Cotto will retire win or lose with him being the A-Side of this super fight.

    If Canelo wins I imagine they'll fight Golovkin in a catchweight.

    This doesn't change anything other than give Golovkin to pick up another belt without facing the champion (albeit not for wont of trying)

    its possible cotto is hanging it up after this ....so why dish out the ridiculous wbc fee when it doesn't matter

    You could be right there.

    If he has another fight after this one then he clearly did it to avoid GGG, can't blame him though.

    If Cotto wins then I think he's looking @ one more really big fight then hanging up the gloves. Mayweather rematch? I really don't understand the WBC's actions here. This is just plain ole DUMB...
