Their idiots if they do that. If Triple G unifiys and moves up and beats the top SMWs and remains undefeated then combined with his steller amatuer career, he'll be in the HOF. ATG is a stretch though IMO.

Amateur career wont factor into it at all, unifying titles will slightly but without any top names he won't get into the HOF off just maybe unifying.

Who you beat is as important as the accolades you gain, its foolish to think being a unified champ by winning two interim titles and beating a second rate champion will make him such.

Interesting how fans decide to perpetuate the disrespect of an awesome career yet will undoubtly take full credit for supporting say Canelo in defeating him.....ill go as far as to say they will admit it would be his greatest win. Such fickle personas below on a soap opera not a boxing website.

Ya that's why Cotto is lucky not to face as much criticism as he should.

If he unified the MW and SMW, beating guys like Degale, Froch(possibly, but he's a coward), Smith, Chudinov, etc I think he gets in, especially if he retires undefeated.

I mean Wlad will get in no question, a lot of his critics would say he fought in the weakest HW division ever. Those people would also say he isn't an ATG either.

Considering Floyd, Manny, Marquez and B-Hop retired/nearly retired, Cotto has the only HOF worthy resume/career along with Wlad and Timmy among the active fighters.

Canelo's career has been a mirage too, two mirages fighting eachother.

Don't put me into that category. Even though I'm a fan of Triple G, I'm also a huge fan of Andre Ward and have taken his side against the Triple G fanatics.

I know you are known to be passionate about your hate for Cotto but at least try to be objective. People forget how most people on this site had Martinez beating the hell out of Cotto. According to you guys that was the fight that was going to send Cotto into retirement.
Is funny how people keep mentioning how out of prime Mosley was, yet he fought him before Manny and Floyd. The same Mosley that almost KO Floyd.
And "almost getting ko" doesn't count. Is a fight.

So who, in your eyes, had a good career, without being mirage-like?

Oh there's no questioning that lol

Fact is Ggg is fantastic unfortunately for him his best win can be seen as Cotto's win vs Torres relatively speaking. Looking at Cottos overall skill set sets him apart and I've distinctly noticed that posters who truly understand the sweet science recognize the level of fighter cotto is.....when the greatest technician of this era labels you as his toughest fight and credits you as the smartest boxer he's faced it only reinforces what many already know. At the moment cotto falls behind the likes of paq, Floyd, Jmm.....

Yeah, I don't get it. Canelo is 25 years old and look at his resume.

I mean you can argue for Cotto, but seriously Canelo???

Before Floyd fight in which he got schooled, He beat Austin Trout and a shot Mosley.

Since then he beat Angulo(nothing special) and Lara who a lot of people think he lost or at least drew. Kirkland hadn't fought in 2 years and was without his trainer.

He has to prove himself, especially if he ever wants to compare himself to the ATG mexican fighters.
