Canelo beats Cotto and he's going to demand big paydays.
That can only happen against Mayweather, Pacquiao, or GGG, he'll fight one of those in September, mark my words.

That isn't what I said. I said wait until all the info is out before we accept it at face value. It may very well be that there is all there is to it. But there might be more to it. the initial reports amd "indirect allusions" often don't tell the whole story. Or haven't you figured that out by now?

I make one comment and you jump out saying stop stating the obvious like I made twenty posts. Don't be so sensitive to the situation. I never knocked Cotto. I don't think he would have chance in hell vs Triple G. He can vacate and move back down if he wins.
One way or another Triple G will unify the middleweight division. The other guys are free to find guys they can win against and for the most money possible.

It won't be GGG I can guarantee it.:deal Also Canelo can get good paydays fighting lesser fighters than these three. Canelo will be the new cash cow of the sport if he beats Cotto.

What the hell are you babbling about?
Sad indictment of the sport my ass. The sport of boxing has been in a bowl of manure longer than I've been alive.
Episodes like this is just more **** being piled up on top of other ****.
Boxing is at the point that whatever ****ty corrupt thing that could happen to it no longer carries any shock value to it anymore.

Not sure how many people other than delusional Mexicans will buy into Canelo if he won't fight GGG who is the mandatory. Nothing looks worse than a fighter not willing to fight their mandatory and it is why the mandatory was created in the first place so people can't duck.

As if sanctioning bodies have never ignored their own rules or screwed their own mandatory.

cmon café? it doesn't matter who said what? listen..i know fighters say things....but all of the sudden what you say doesn't matter at all?

listen...I know people think im a hugger and a troll...ill admit that I make troll threads from time to time about this subject.....but I assure you I try to stay level headed about it...and im just passionate about it....

cotto never won the title at 160 and decided to start defending it lower...he challenged for it..the wbc and Sergio let him...he took it and ran with it.....and it worked out for him financially....and were still getting what looks to be like a great fight

cotto started at 140...his prime at 147....ggg is a career middle who has chased fights at 168...they don't belong near each other....blame the wbc...blame Sergio for allowing this...cotto doesn't need to be called a coward or a quitter.....he made a move and were getting a nice matchup on paper that is pretty fair

ggg has a chance to fight ward and its not good business in the eyes of gggs fans.....well they are right....just not directly...the fight would have done well enough and been big.....but bad business would have been from looking human in the ring with ward....because it crushes their brand.......looking human to ward puts them in a bad spot.....cotto has looked human and mortal in the ring many time......hes a welter whos at the end of his career when its tough to cut weight...he doesn't belong near a guy that was chasing fights at 168

at least you cant complain anymore about cotto holding it...its gone....and maybe it works out well for ggg and all the dreams come true.....but you just might come to find that cotto wasn't the problem at all

Just because this has been happening for a long time doesn't make it any better man.

Let's just say it reaffirms for the thousandth time this sport is in total anarchy, and it still sucks, if you like that better.

If Canelo can get 10million+ paydays fighting tomato cans, then more power to him, he'd be a fool to risk a fight with GGG if he can get paid fighting much lesser fighters.
Any other fighter including GGG himself would do the same.

GGG is already doing it in fact. A fight with Andre Ward doesn't get him much more than what he's getting paid to fight the competition he's been fighting, so he's not about to fight Ward when he can keep fighting tomato cans and get roughly the same type payday.

People buy into guys for various reasons. Hardcore fans like us may be turned off but the casuals are the ones who drive the sport. They will continue to support Canelo and he will continue to sell out and do good PPV numbers regardless of GGG.

Good on Cotto not paying these ridiculous fee's. This has nothing to do with GGG, I believe Cotto was planning to retire after this fight regardless of the result so why bother paying a clearly corrupt organisation an over inflated sanctioning fee.

My thoughts on the Cotto-Canelo-GGG situation can be seen here.
