Well, actually if you pay attention to WBC and K2, we don't have to wait months. We only have to wait 15 days for a decision.

If he dropped the belt then, you all would still be saying the same thing only worse.

He would've been accused of ducking either way. So you're implying he paid 800K and didn't drop then so it didn't look like he was clearly ducking and refused sanctioning fee before fight to get stripped so he could play the "I was extorted" card instead?

    On the mandatory.

If Canelo wins, he has 15 days to begin negotiations with K2 for a fight with GGG. If he doesn't, then WBC will strip him of the title and elevate Golovkin to full WBC Champion.

GG agreed to step aside. He agreed. I don't know about any extortion feelings that Cotto may have, you'll have to wait to hear what he has to say about the matter.

He's already the mandatory. Unless there is a rematch, GG gets the next crack period! That's what you guys don't understand. Canelo can't fight someone else. Cotto paid step aside money.

Cotto dropping that middleweight belt like a hot potatoe. The guy said that he isn't a middleweight if front of the whole world after the Geale fight.

I know, but what I'm saying is if Cotto had ZERO INTENTIONS of fighting Golovkin EVER then he should've just given the belt to Golovkin over the summer, so he wouldn't of ever had to pay a 800K step aside because he wouldn't of been the champ anymore.

    UNLESS he either

    a) truly did want to fight GGG after Canelo

    or

    b) didn't want to show how clearly he was ducking, avoid sanctioning fee, and play the "I was being extorted" card instead so it wouldn't look like so clearly of a duck

Canelo has to fight GGG next. There are various reasons why GGG took the step aside money like a, it'd make GGG/winner fight much, much bigger and b, it seemed like Canelo would be more willing to fight than Cotto and Canelo has a good chance of winning.

But K2 has made it clear they won't be accepting anymore step aside fees. They want the title NEXT. It'll be the perfect time following the Canelo/Cotto fight because it'd be huge. So, no more exceptions. Canelo has 15 days after the fight to begin negotiations. If he doesn't, he stripped.

If Canelo wants rematch, it'll be without the WBC title.

Doesn't he have one more fight after this on his Roc Nation contract? But regardless he should retire. The guy is getting banged up in sparring and his facial tissue has a lot of mileage on it.

The only thing GG might lose out on is being the lineal champion if neither guy does not fight him. History will understand this.
