    Nah, when he gets all 4 belts, he becomes the man. A dozen of haters arguing that he isn't wouldn't matter.

    The "lineage" isn't defined by any rule book, but there is a matter of tradition and precedent dating back to the days of one champion per division.

    Cotto did have a voluntary defense so GG only was stepping aside for the Canelo fight. I believe Cotto thinks that GG has a lil popularity now and that if he wins, he can negotiate a fight with GG, and if that fight falls through, he can save face which imo would be the end game. Then the fans can truly say that Cotto never wanted the fight. Saying now makes no sense.

    ... and how is lineage started when there are up to 4 champions per division and there is no existing lineal champion ?

    The WBC. But this again is a wait and see thing. We have to wait for the results of Canelo Cotto. But we do know that GG is the number 2 guy and that they have to fight him now.

    I was talking about lineal championship, not WBC one.

    WBC already said that if their champion doesn't fight Golovkin next, GGG will be just promoted to a full champion.
