I've always supported fighters not paying sanctioning fees.

He's the lineal champion. A little extra piece of jewelry means nothing beyond aesthetics in his living room.

We judge what happens in the ring (well, I know many of you struggle with that, but still...).

He has to pay step aside money. He has to pay sanctioning fees. He shouldn't have to do both. And if you ask why, ask Cotto...don't ask me.

Hard to disagree with him. $1.1m is ridiculous for something which has no prestige attached to it.

    LMAO......

He didnt wanna pay GGG his share.

Looks like K2's gonna be suing ROC nation for breech.

The WBC was forcing Cotto and Canelo pay a % of thier purse to GGG for his permission to allow them to duck him.

He said it's unfair for the organization to charge him step aside money......

How is that fair to GGG who is his mandatory?

    And guess what dikkweeds.

Cottos face is covered with acne. Acne he didnt have as a 21 y/o but has now as a 35 y/o.

And he admits that now he doesnt have to drain.

    How fukkin convenient. :lol::lol::lol:

    You're right about one thing.

A belt(lineal or not) is MEANINGLESS if it's not contested against the mandatories who worked their way into position to fight for that title.

And when the WBC mysteriously awarded JCC Jr the title, not a single person considered him the MW Champion.

Just like now, the ppl who actually watch what goes on in the ring, will never recognise Cotto as the MW Champion.

So it's just as well he tossed it in the bin since he was never gonna fight the Champion in the first place. :good:good:good

    9G fans looking strange here.

Their anger and frustration should be toward the WBC exclusively.

I was agreeing with you about the meaningless title that was not once defended against the TRUE MW Champion in the past 3 yrs. :-(

Exactly - their greed has cost Golovkin his mandatory shot. It may still happen, but even if it does happen now, chances are the WBC won't be involved.
