    Cost??

    He'll still be mandatory to Canelo if Canelo wins. If Cotto wins, he's immediately elevated to full WBC Champ. He's still in the same position. The only difference is he'll get the belt immediately if Cotto wins.

    It is not what he did in 2012, but what he did in 2012-2015 destroying anybody who had ballz to face him and scaring a bunch of cowards into ducking him.

    No reasonable person would disagree that Golovkin is a head and shoulders above anybody in the MW division.

    I was obviously referring directly to his shot at Cotto - the belt doesn't really mean anything, it's all about the fights. The belt was simply a means to getting the fight.

    The irony of it all is that the same people who deride Cotto as a champ will be shouting Golovkin's name from the rooftops.

    You said a 3 year period, you can't retrospectively call someone a champ. He was either champ in 2012, or he wasn't.

    I don't doubt anyone would say that at this moment in time, what I asked you was why you thought that also applied 3 years ago - in 2012.

    Cotto agreed to pay 800k or WBC wouldn't allow his fight against Canelo for the belt. Now he refuses to pay what he PROMISED unless this all is a spectacle rehe****d and played by Cotto, WBC and possibly Canelo.

    He wasn't recognized as THE middleweight champion of the world in 2012. He was just WBA champion.

    Suleiman put up with Cotto retaining the belt hostage thinking the mega bout would generate lots of money to WBC now Cotto stab him in back knowing he will be stripped if he wins and not face GGG. Smart move from Cotto.

    I agree with Miguel, WBC are crooks
    They are supposed to be a non profit organization....please, they don't deserve more than $3,000 for the actual belt.,

    $300,000 is more than most fighters make in a dozen fights...
