Don't understand the hate Cotto gets on here? A good honest pro, fan friendly style and has fought all comers.

I'd say Cotto is a first ballot HOF'er without a doubt.

sure it means he himself doesnt think that he's as good as others might think he is. Straight from the horses mouth and all that :yep

PS: [To be totally honest actually I think he was a great boxer, but I don't approve of his latest catchweight stint as MW 'champ']

Look he may be a nice guy, but if he's a sure fire first ballot HOF, he has career has to be thoroughly scrutinized.

Wlads recent wins over Haye, Provetin, Jennings alone are light years ahead of GGGs best win's, when GGG is dominating perennial top 5 or better rated fighters for a decade then we can make a comparasion.

Only somewhat decent opponent dude has faced is Geale who got destroyed by Cotto directly after, & Murray who struggled with an injured Martinez that Cotto KO'd.

Half the fighters listed over Cotto aren't even better than him, if Cotto win's you'd have May,Pac,Hop & Wlad at the top followed by the Mexican trio and Cotto as ATGs of this era.

Cotto should have stayed at 147. He couldn't get into the top group of JMW division, so he moved further up where he hasn't fought one healthy fighter.

The armchairs who think that Cotto's career is overrated need to follow another sport. I don't like Cotto as a fighter, but I respect him.

And why is that? Who else did he beat besides Pacquiao? Shot Casamayor that was even with him before the KO? Shot Barrera who gave him a really tough fight (who people called past it when he first lost to Pac)? Juan Diaz? (had him hurt), Katsidis? (knocked him down), past it Alvarado who was nothing special and knocked him down? lost to Chris John, lost to Pac, lost to Mayweather, lost to Bradley (although he was old so I don't count that against him too much).

Cotto gave Mayweather a fight, Marquez got beat worst than most Floyd opponents. Marquez put Pac to sleep for an hour and gave him trouble in the other fights, that's all he did in his career.

He will easily make it as a first ballot HOFer.

I do rank Camacho above him.
