Can't really blame him for giving up the belt

One million is a ridiculous fee

Roc still paid Genady $800 000 in step-aside money. He just didn't want to pay the extra $300 000 for the sanctioning fees, and offered them 125k instead.

That is my understanding, at least.

Cotto is the crook. He deceived everybody having WBC promoting the fight till the very end. If he had a bit of honor, he would have refused to pay upfront.

Reading comprehension and common sense. There was an article on boxing scene where they described the details of the deal. Genady still got his 800k, but Cotto didn't wish to give 300k out of his own pocket (800k came from his promoter).

I am wholly on Cotto's side on this issue. **** wbc, they made enough money off his blood and sweat.

If that's the case, this should be cause for celebration for GGG then, should it not?

It's about big fights. That's it.

They stripped Cotto, but, will deal with the same thing from Canelo. He is not moving to MW anytime soon. GGG will be bringing his a$s down to 155 if he wants to sniff that belt within the next year or so.

You are probably right. I just read Loefler's interview, and he said nothing about 800k.

They want to keep this information on the down low. Which makes perfect sense, public does not need to know the ins and outs of their agreement.

I always knew this was about money by the way. WBC is adamant to strip Cotto, but not because of GGG. The C stands for Crooks.
