Yeah Garcia was never going to be world class.. But he should have at least been able to beat guys like Mike Dixon and Garing Lane. He had already demonstrated on several occasions that he could easily dispatch men of that caliber.. Not sure what happened.

Agreed. Sanders had no significant rating, backing, or market value that would have warranted him being in line for Lewis that long. He was talked about as a possible title challenger for Michael Moorer in 1994, before he got sparked by Nate Tubbs. Then again in the early 2000's before losing to Hasim Rahman.. But he was never consistently a ranked challenger in line for the title. The only reason he got the Wladimir Klitschko fight was because 10 other possible challengers had already turned down offers to fight Klit.. And most ( including myself ) thought Corrie was going to get slaughtered.

Skilled with Jab, Cross and **** & clinch? No bodypunches, no counter punches, no headmovement and scared to hell to get hit?:rofl

Maybe he is the best clinching HW ever yes. but the best HW BOXER? Never!

Purrity knock him out. Revenge? No Big brother must fight HIS Rematch!

Brewster knock him out! Rematch? After years when Brewster was blind.

Sanders beat the **** out of him! Rematch? No big brother must fight his Rematch again.

    Greatest HW ever..

ignoring the era differences and putting Wlad into a time machine and taking his 21st century 'beefcake' self back in time then you might have a debate but you're ignoring eras. How about a 2005 Dempsey or a 2005 Louis against a 1920 Wlad or a 1940 Wlad? With over 45 years of following boxing, as you mentioned, your rant boggles my mind...

I think it might be subject to some revision, given the result of his last fight!

I'm not a fan of Wlad by any means, but l do think losing a fight at 39 should be relatively meaningless.

Was Peter Quilin 39 when he wouldn't pull the trigger against Andy Lee?

    There's a difference between wouldn't and couldn't.

Wlad simply wouldn't and it had nothing to do with his age as he displayed the exact same reflectance to trade all throughout his career.

No loss can ever , ever be 'meaningless' When you are on top and continuously winning as a champion.

Mayweather would not have been given a pass if he lost to Pacman at age 38.

He's overshadowed Lennox Lewis and his brother, that's for sure.
