WBC strips Cotto of middleweight title

I realize that david...im saying they aren't going to force him to fight ggg after fighting cotto.....which would be cotto and ggg back to back.....I know they aren't forcing him to fight cotto....

 

It is not wishful thinking. It is what WBC stated multiple times. Fight GGG next or get stripped.

You are very naive about boxing and have a lot to learn about it. The WBC will protect Canelo as long as they can he's a cash cow and they can make a lot of money off of him more than they can with GGG. I'm a PBF fan but the WBC let PBF get away with murder for that very same reason. Wake up!

 

Don't compare Floyd with Canelo. They are on different recognition levels/st@rdom levels. More importantly, Canelo signed a fight contract with WBC where he agreed to fight GGG next as a condition of WBC sanctioning the Cotto fight.

I think I've read somewhere that if Canelo wins the fight he wins the belt but if Cotto wins he doesn't win it. That's one of the most absurd things I've ever heard in a long while. This makes sense when there's a weight issue but doing this over financial matters purely contradicts with the principles of the sport. They should've either stripped off Cotto and arrange a mando for GGG for the vacant belt or they should've let Cotto keep it. This is simply absurd what they're doing.

Of course it's all about the money. WBC and WBA are not sanctioning bodies, they are B2B belt shops.

Because it's just an idea. It's not a real belt or championship. The idea isn't even recognized by the hof, which is why when Pac gets in it will say he's a 6 division champ not 8. Fans make up all types of bs about who they think won fights and who they think real champs are but there are rules and practices that determine all that, it is after all a real sport not the land of make believe.

These so called "rules" are not put into practice, they are bent, broken and discarded worse that loose change.
Boxing, at its core is something special but the reality of its current state of affairs is wretched and demoralizing.

You are saying that any boxer, who holds a belt from a well known organization, gets to staple oneself a "World Champion". Its pathetic and wrong.

Danny Jacobs running around NY with his second rate belt, Robert Guerrero claiming to be a FOUR weigh world champion.... HE HAS NEVER BEEN CONSIDERED THE BEST IN ANY DIVISION HE CAMPAIGNED AT!

These belts are just something given out by businesses. Businesses are driven by money. WBC has over 30 belts they hand out- IN ALL SEVENTEEN DIVISIONS.
