I'm gonna favour Jones here on points.

Me too. Foster might be a bit too slow for RJJ. Spinks on the other hand...

A good jab neutralises speed and Foster had a ramrod jab. He'd finish up knocking Jones smack cold.

IMO that comment is BS not to mention a 20 yr. era difference.

That Foster jab would have Roy stopped in his tracks...often.
Spinks on the other hand? Forget Spinks, Gregory would have beaten Roy at LH.
Roy made his legacy at Middleweight; I might be wrong and please correct me if I am, but what did RJJ's LH run consist of?...and of course all the Roy 'nuthuggers' bring up the Ruiz HW bout which anyone could see the eventual outcome was pre-determined.
Roy was a great fighter but so many take him back a decade (or three) and having him wipe out ATG's. :patsch

Roy's 168-heavyweight resume is superior to Foster's entire resume and easily. 168 pounders were light heavys back then. Roy never got stuck behind anyone's jab while prime.

Hard fight to pick Fosters only real losses were to natural heavyweights, Foster also never saw anyone with the physical ability of a R.J. But Roy had a achilles heal, as we found out as he slowed he couldn't take a good shot, and if a Tarver put him to sleep... Wow Foster, Would eventually land and good night Irene.

I feel like Foster's jab finds Roy's face for the majority of the night, but his right hand probably doesn't find a home behind it. Roy dazzles him with his sped a few times though out the fight and keeps it interesting, but Foster carries it in the end.

You've got to think to yourself, would Jones last with Frazier? He'd get KTFO....

Jones would make him look like a bum. Roy was that special.
