Will the winner of Frampton/Quigg become a household name?

I think so.. But especially if it's Quigg because he's English. Sky Box office is a platform that makes boxers well known.

Haye became a big name after the Maccirnelli fight, before that he was only known by proper boxing fans. I think the same will happen with the winner of this.

Frampton's only big in Ireland lets be honest. Casuals in mainland Britain don't know who he is yet.

 

Frampton turned down the chance to go in Celebrity Big Brother, he shouldve gone in ... it wouldve boosted his profile!

Though judging by him at the latest pressers maybe he made the right choice he might have lost his rag.

 

They don't know who Quigg is either!

true but he should be. Frampton's big in in Northern Ireland because they appreciate their top boxers over there, and they become big names because of their achievements/ability

Whereas in England you usually only become a big name if ..
your from a race of people that are awful at sport and that whole race/religion desperately follows you - Khan

True. But Quigg has been on tons of big shows and always had good performances.

Blame his "promoter" for him not being as popular as he should be.

 

At the lighter weights it is trickier to become a household name unless you have a crowd pleasing style or are incredibly charismatic. Neither Frampton or Quigg are although that's not to say they couldn't be in the future- especially if they somehow unify the division.

 

Easy for frampton to be popular, how many other Irish fighters have that got that are any good that fight regularly in Ireland, simple logistics means frampton has more fans.....how many fighter come from Manchester, loads.

 

? Belfast is a proper fight city with loads of fighters both pro and am

 

Name me another Belfast fighter that is world champ that fights in Belfast??

But name me a city in the UK that has 4 better fighters overall pro and am ..than Carl Frampton, Ryan Burnett, Michael Conlan. Paddy Barnes ?

 

Four better fighters?? Why because they were good ams!! Frampton yes, other three done nothing in the pro game yet, amazing prospects though!

My point being easy to get behind Frampton and sell an arena out when he is the only decent name in big fights in one city to get behind, simple fact.
