I agree with the above abuffy is a real boxing fan & its obvious she loves the sport. Its a pity some of the people who try to diss her don't know as much about the sport as she does. I don't always agree with her views but she is a solid contributor Keep it up abuffy

He's clearly a **** and always has been. I have no idea where this jumped up vacant title winning diva gets the nerve. Actually I do, he knows no matter what he does his legions of fanboys will praise him for doing it. Can you imagine if Mayweather pulled some of the b*tch moves Cotto has? If he made a career of winning vacant titles and the disabled? The torrent of abuse he'd get would be astonishing but because it's Miguel doing it, it's apparently absolutely fine.
Oscar just filed suit, too, to demand the purse be 50/50- he said Cotto's WBC belt was the reason Canelo took the short money. This really would've been less complicated if Cotto dropped the belt months ago or just paid up now.

The WBC (and some other sanctioning bodies) puts that belt in the hands of the highest bidder or highest earner. It hasn't been about legacy in quite sometime. Cotto is just beating them at their own game. I can't hate on him for that. Nor should you. The fight that we all want is still happening. The title is irrelevant at this point. Canelo is NOT going to be rushed into signing a fight with GGG in 15 days. He does not give a fock about that MW belt. History will show that he had it (if he wins). That's all that really matters. It's great for his resume and will further raise his profile. GGG will eventually get it...but, it won't guarantee him any better opportunities.
