Does Larry have a chance here? I say yes! Still had all of the mechanics down, great jab, decent enough stamina, still moved fairly well... 40+ year old Ray Austin schooled Stiverne for nearly 10 rounds while barely moving, and just popping a jab out. I think old Holmes could get it done with the jab alone...

Stiverne would kick his ass. Holmes at 50 looked ordinary against Butterbean and was starting to look quite geriatric.

If Austin schooled Stiverne, then The Bean floored Holmes.

    Why?

The Larry who beat Mercer would beat Stirne, I'm confident. But 50 year old Larry? The one from the Butterbean bout?

I sense some Deontay Wilder hate involved here somewhere.

Nope.. I rewatched Stiverne/Austin yesterday and BWARE looked even worse than I remembered. I really think an old Holmes if training gives him a boxing lesson.

larry dominates eaerly with the jab, but on gassing out halfway gets stopped or outworked for a points loss.

pretty much like calzaghe vs Hopkins, stiverne cant win the first 4-5 rounds due to his vastly inferior boxing skills, but can capiltaise on the gassed eldster to catch up and snatch a narrow win.

What about the version who fought Nielsen and Harris in 97? He was a few months away from being 48 against Harris.
