I think Valdez does great against most aggressive, come forward fighters...(Don't say Tiger)

Why not say Tiger? Tiger could beat him. Tiger was several levels better than Briscoe. Only one to crack that Tiger chin was Foster. And Valdez, although a big punching middleweight, did NOT hit like Bob Foster!

Fair enough...I just said that because Tiger/Valdez was recently discussed. I agree that Tiger could beat him.IMO.

Yeah come to think of it Fullmer would be tough. It's not a long list though, is it?

I'm not so sure that any aggressive middleweight would fare to well against Valdez...witness the second Briscoe bout...Valdez could move like a cat...and he was a real bomber. Valdez needed to be finessed...with toughness and power, like Monzon did.

I agree, Fullmer would be tough, because he had that wierd plan B style that he used vs Basilio and Tiger in their draw . Of course, I have a higher regard for Fullmer than many other posters do.

I think Valdez would smash Fullmer. I think that fight looks like Tiger-Fullmer only worse because Valdez was more versatile than Tiger. Even then the instant Fullmer realized that Tiger was the stronger man he went from being aggressive to running like a thief all night in both of their first and second fights and got brutalized in their third.
