People started hating on Cotto once he left Bob Arum and was no longer under the thumb of a white promoter.

Nope. A scumbag will remain scumbag even if he beats Canelo.

The boxing media turned on Cotto once he left Top Rank. Top Rank began slagging Cotto in the media and the lemming nuthuggers on this forum soon followed.

No, whoever turned on Cotto did that when he started behaving like a diva and then like a scumbag.

There is a great deal of truth to this, which I believe is justified with all things considered.

I still think he has a pretty big chance of winning tonight (even though I'm pulling for Canelo 100%).

Except that he never really acted like much of a diva or scumbag.

Really seems to me that first it was Margarito fans, then Martinez fans then GGG fans and bandwagoners.

Doesn't seem to me that Cotto has really done much wrong. He's hust tried to make the most of his career like everyone else.

come on now holding the middleweight title hostage and refusing to fight anyone at middleweight making them come down to a CW because "he's just trying to make it fair " now he's trying to scam GGG out of the 800k he owes him. I like watching him fight but he is being a diva and a scumbag.

Not really holding the belt hostage. He had one voluntary defense and then this big fight against a guy who is expected to beat him.

Yes the catch weights are to prevent guys having a big advantage in weight thus making it more fair. He isn't doing anything against the rules so I don't see why it's a problem.

From what I hear he was willing to pay the step aside money if they hadn't stripped him of the title and he still will if he legally has to.

He has simply been doing what pretty much anyone else would do if they were in his position.
